I've seen this car in real life at spa. The downshift sounds were really loud and impressive. Gave me goosebumps to hear them slamming the brakes at 320 kp/h

That unknown downshit sound of BMW Sauber F1.08 sounds just freaking awsome. And the question is, what is some technical part called when the driver downshift the gear, the sound's coming little of bit from the engine or something.
