Had the pleasure of going to George Washington Preparatory High School in Los Angeles, with the late, beautiful and talented Teresa Graves; we graduated in 1966. She was such a nice, quiet, confident, talented young lady. I remember walking from my home one morning to catch the bus to get to school. This long, silver gray Cadillac pulls up beside me....and it's Teresa. We rode to school (in style) laughing and talking. There engraved on the dashboard.....was her name. She didn't put on any airs, was very unassuming and just down to earth. When this show came out, I was so excited and proud of her. Glad we have this made for TV movie to remember her by.
Narvelan Coleman Graves was voted Class of '66 Most Talented. Barbara Parriot checked in as Washington Prep's Class of '66 Most Humorous. Barbara went on to be the voice of Valerie in "Josie and the Pussycats." I graduated with the Washington Prep Class of '85.
My my my I had never heard about. The late actress Teresa Graves, before today Monday 26th October 2015.Such a outstanding actress. The late Teresa Graves & The late Whitney Houston, sure could of passed- off as sisters. Both gone to soon R.I.P
It was said that Whitney Houston’s father had a romantic relationship with Ms. Graves back in the day and she got pregnant and allegedly had a child by him that was kept quiet due to her acting career. In short, it’s alleged that Whitney Houston was her daughter and John had Cissy Houston to become her adopted mother at birth. I personally believe this because Whitney never looked anything like Cissy and was the spitting image of the beautiful Ms. Graves. Whitney had the same wit, beautiful speaking voice, tone, sophistication and mannerisms like Ms. Graves!
Funny she almost married a guy named Anthony Richmond a cinematographer but became a jehovah witness and didn’t marry him but Jaclyn smith did later on… but I agree she’s the prettiest of any angel by far
Hi. They actually did have a series. It lasted one season. It was produced by Universal Studios which produced a majority of primetime programming in the 70s. The reason the series didnt work out was because she asked the producers to tone down the violence and sex appeal of her character, due to her being a Jehovah's Witness. There was an episode that featured all for mer Laugh-In co-stars, however that did not help the ratings any. After the cancellation Teresa Graves left show business.
I was born today in 1987.... and all I can remember was loving every Blackexploitation movies... I can say I grow up watching these great beautiful black women and men action movies. These women made me love me... and I always wanted to be that kick ass sexy black woman... bring back great memories , watching this movie.
Well I just finished watching this for the first time. I thought it was cute. The character and the actress were very likable. Not as action packed as I hoped and unforgettable. However, in her day I would have thought she was the best thing since sliced bread :) Thanks so much for posting :)
@@PoshMillyT How times have changed; I was shocked by that. Great walk down memory lane, but some things, like that part of the script don't age well. Good thing, too.
She gave this up for religion. I wish she were still alive today. I think she would have gotten a big kick out of this resurgence and the marathon of the tv show on Centric this past year. She died as the Internet was starting to take off. She was able to live in obscurity till then. I would like to have seen her and hear what she had to say about her life.
Remembering "ABC Movie of the Week", the made-for-TV movies that aired from '69 to '75. Duel, The Night Stalker, Brian's Song, et al. No special effects, just sensational script-writing and theme music.
I just saw this movie late saturday night loved Teresa Graves in this movie she was just like another Pam Grier I also loved and my favorite shoes she wore in this movie were the black slip ons with the fat white rubber soles does anyone happen to maybe know what those shoes were called and if you can find or get those slip ons she wore i know that was 70s and its now 2016 if anyone knows could they comment back to me i love those kinds of shoes that slip on I have pairs of them just don't have ones of the 70s I also loved the red pants she wore with them i know she passed in 2002 Teresa R I P
I don't know about slip-ons, but we had the tie-ups in the early 70's with the thick, white soles, and they were called "Marshmallows". You took me back with this one, LOL. I hope this helps.
Everybody. Should. Like my lady's movie I'm surprised. We got a 13 down for this video and I don't like that and for ones who help get 250 hands up 👆 thank you 😊
For those who do not know, Whitney Houston was born 1963 and when she was born, THERESA GRAVES was ALREADY 15 YEARS OLD! Watters should get his hands on these comments!
It seems someone has uploaded the series that came from this pilot. She was not the best actress here (kinda cheesy with the "Suga" language). She probably grew into the role as the season went on. I intend to check out a few episodes.
Because. I want you'll to know she was meant for me because. There's another woman. Out there who look just. Like her and in due time due season I will 😊 have her because I claim her everyday you'll see I cry 😭 over her because I tell the lord to send me a beautiful black woman who look just like her
I want RUclips to know this my Dreamwoman my lady my baby the beautiful ms Teresa Graves and I'm gonna marry 💑 me a woman who looks just like. Her because we all got a twin she was the most beautiful black woman of the 1970s I sleep with. Her picture by my side every night 🌃
Yes it was a successful series, it only went 1 season, cause, that's when she found, #Jehovah O:-) then she wouldnt do anything she considered against her religion :-( so she quit acting & gave her devotion to, #Jehovah O:-) she had done some movies, and, was a regular on, #LaughIn
this is some of the worst acting ive seen in a while,i don't know maybe because its dated & this lady is pretty but back then a beautiful black woman imo was lola falona.
They were going to commit to a series after this pilot movie was a hit, but Theresa Graves got cold feet & decided she was too Christian to do the series. Her choice, of course, but she could have a nice little career. Should have done that, & then move on to something more of a family/Christian nature.
They did a season of the series, I listened to her talk about it at this Jehovah convention she spoke at, you can find it on youtube. But she talked about show and she became a JW after she shot the pilot and it was picked up. She tried to back out, but the network said they would adhere to her religious followings and not have her do anything that went against it.
Teresa Graves was actually one of the first African American women to star in a her own television show Diahann Carroll, being the very first of course she was also apart of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In comedy stretch show and yes it was once reported that whitney was going to star in a movie version of Christie Love ..

Thank you! It's corrected now. I was wondering why her look had changed so much ;-)
I love this. I love the shag carpet. It so seventies!
She regretted her bikini work in Laugh in and her part in a comedy vampire movie, because they don't exist.

She was very pretty. But she was wrong about it being that she could've been killed at the part in the park early in the movie. She was winning.
The Actress' name is, Teresa Graves! Not Pam Grier.
