I had same thing happen to me un fla lighting hit a sale boat that was docked up on the dock I was fishing. I thanked the good lord that i didn't get hit. All my hair on my hole body was standing. Found the closet bridge tied off and climb in the rod box waited the storm out. Be safe and be blessed

It’s a fizzing needle to get the air out of the fishes bladder, when you catch them from deep water air gets in their bladder and that’s the only way to get it out

That is the electricity in the air. If your line stays horizontal in the air after a cast and falls in increments or your hair stands up, it's not usually safe. That's normally an indication lightning is inevitable. Be Safe

I've been on the Kentucky lake a few times when there is a lot of static in the air and the air fills thick. It means their's a Thunder storm on top of you or very close. Only times I've seen lightning hit the water. Now when that happens, I always get off the water as quick as possible. Lightning hitting the water should put the fear of God in everyone! Never take chances with lightning.
I see you have the livescanner...mine got destroyed & has been sent in twice already..I was told its cause I didn't have the stabilizer on..does yours not bounce all over the place without it?
