My wife and I fish in a bass fishing tournament on Lake Guntersville during some rainy, stormy weather! What a crazy night!! Have you ever had your hair stand up while fishing from the storm, your rod buzz, or your line go straight up in the air? Pretty crazy! We caught some good fish cranking and then when we started dragging, we caught the monsters! We had an epic win, and caught some MONSTER Bass right at the end! This was our biggest bag ever with over 16lbs for three fish in a 3.5hr tournament! We beat Gerald Swindle, and many others! Such a fun day! My wife can catch them!! God bless.

The hair standing up and the buzzing in the rods means there is a lot of built up static electricity in the air. It’s sometimes a sign that lightning is about to strike near you but not always.

That is the electricity in the air.
If your line stays horizontal in the air after a cast and falls in increments or your hair stands up, it's not usually safe. That's normally an indication lightning is inevitable. Be Safe

I've been on the Kentucky lake a few times when there is a lot of static in the air and the air fills thick. It means their's a Thunder storm on top of you or very close. Only times I've seen lightning hit the water. Now when that happens, I always get off the water as quick as possible. Lightning hitting the water should put the fear of God in everyone! Never take chances with lightning.

Ummm the hair going up means you best get out of there! How some fisherman don’t know this is beyond me. It’s not a funny thing it’s deadly serious. I’ve had this happen at least half a dozen times in my career and I split the moment it happened and TWICE lightning had struck my position moments following as I’d be watching from a distance. Pay attention and please better understand weather.

Awesome trip to be able to fish with the wife ! Love it ! The hair standing up usually is caused by static electricity building up in the air around storms with lightning in them. Noticed you fizzing a fish. It would be awesome if you could do a video on how to and when to do that. I'm starting to fish deeper and bigger lakes so I'm sure I need to be doing that sometimes. Enjoyed the video as usual. Thanks for sharing.

You wifes hair and rods are humming because of static electricity in the air. That means that lighting is definitely around and if your rods are humming when you raise them above your heads your rod is acting like a lightning rod and THATS NOT GOOD, when that happens its time to get low in the boat. Please be safe, lightning on the water is no joke my friend.
