Not sure what steel they use on their lockbar inserts... I've seen D2 used nitro V it's definitely going to be a steel at 60hrc or higher... Don't think I've ever heard any mention which one Reate uses for the Chaves 👊🏼

I’m interested in these but don’t know why I would spent 400 on a Chinese knife when I can buy a Chris reeves for just a little more?

There’s no reason to any of this… It’s super cool. Chris Reeves are also super cool. If you dig the Chaves design, it’s a great knife for the money with kickstop. Both rock!

I own both this knife and a sebenza 31. While they both have titanium scales, use a frame lock, and are of similar build quality that's really where the similarities end. Depending on when a sebenza was built you may get either s35vn, s45vn, and I believe they're now using magnacut. This knife uses M390. The sebenza uses proprietary pb washers in the pivot. It's not meant to be flicked, but rolled open, and the action almost feels like a hydraulic cylinder. This knife uses bearings in the pivot and is only meant to be flipped open. At the end of the day they are both incredibly well made knives that are well worth the money in my opinion.

I just bought 20 of them from China. $71 each. They are good knives.

@@7996hobguy There's a big difference between buying from a company that designs and produces high end production knives, that just so happens to be in china, and buying bulk wholesale clone knives from wish or temu. These knives have an msrp of around $415... if you bought them for $70 a piece, wholesale or not you bought fakes.
