- Giant has been one of the big boys in mountain biking for years. When they started partnering with Yamaha on their motor, we knew Giant electric mountain bikes were going to over an incredible riding experience for eMTB riders. The Giant Trance electric MTBs are an excellent example of the Giant riding experience. With the SyncDrivePro motor (developed in partnership with Yamaha), mid-length travel capable of eating up the most treacherous single track and all mountain trails, and grippy Maxxis tires this Giant Trance X E+ offers a great riding experience. And for $6300, the value proposition is definitely there as well. Let's see all of Austen's thoughts in this quick bike breakdown!

Anything Yamaha touches is quality. Happy to hear that Giant and Yamaha have worked together to create the most reliable eBike I’ve ever worked on. Bravo!
Like other 150/140mm travel eMTBs, the Giant Trance X E+ proves to be just as capable as its longer travel counterparts. As for the geometry, its steeper seat tube angle provides a more aggressive / forward pedal platform for the climbs. While it doesn’t have the slackest head tube angle, I didn’t notice it hindering me at all through the high speed technical descents. Overall, I’d say it’s easily one of the best all mountain bikes I’ve ridden and the Syncdrive Pro motor stole the show!
It's great to see the Yamaha drive being used more by name brands. It's definitely been a favorite of mine
just purchased 2023 version - great bike
Other people that reviews on bikes should take notes on this video they hit every important part of a review
i have this bike with 4000 km on it, i ride it like it should be ridden, fast and hard. It s been faultless beside the chain guard that i broke. The Yamaha engine is a pleasure to pedal.
As always, great job of telling us all about the bikes.
By the way, "where is that!!" Awesome looking trail!
Last weekend I built my first ebike using my hard tail 29r. Did a couple of shakedown rides I've got everything snugged and it should end up being a great greenway/commuter when we move to northwest AR next year. Along with that move I'm planning to get the Trance E+ in some version so this was great to watch! My Anthem 29 has been fantastic for several years for what I ride now but 100mm travel and the pure XC geometry comes up short for a lot of things in NWA and I may as well go E to save my aging carcass on the ups to get the most out of the downs.
That trance is badass! Blasting through the rocks.
Just the best review Ive seen on this bike. You convinced me to pick one up, super stoked with the choice two months later, exactly as reviewed.
Was it worth the purchase? Not sure which giant to pick up for myself.
@@kieransanderson12 Absolutely happy with this bike, I think its the best setup at the price. Did a lot of research, and really happy I chose this one. A goat on the climb and a sled downhill Really cannot recommend this bike enough after owning many others. Enjoy!
Is there community group where to share rides, experiences, lessons learned etc....?
I have Giant E trance bike and I am enjoining my rides I would like to share.
Which do you prefer, the trance or the levo ?
How I can find a 800w battery in United States?
Battery removable or fixed?
Does anyone know if this bike can be configured/customized using the Giant Ride Control app?
Yes you can! I have custom modes for days.
Hey, just one question - will M or Large fit better, I am 178 tall
I would go for an M. I have this exact bike in size S since M was sold out, and i'm 175 tall. Fits me fine, but I would have liked a bit more reach and size M has a longer dropper post.
You fly down lower stage coach on that Giant
Have had my new GIANT TRANCE XE+2
Now for little over a month…. Absolutely Love this bike 😊. But HATE THAT they have such a great power plant Limited 😢. SUCH A SHAME !!!!!!!
We need Mountain Bikes to be given a top speed of 28

Yes sir and AMEN… Mr. Dennis
LET RIDERS DECIDE and SET EBIKES FREE !!!!!!!
by a modification kit and install it on the motor, frees up all that power, there are plenty of youtube videos and explanations, just make sure you get the correct kit for your specific bike
Because to go faster it will be peaked at max wattage overheat throw error codes. Peak wattage isnt meant to be more than for briefly.. If you want a faster top end bike a bigger motor is better. But i love running 7 mph on beat up trails and cruise 20 mph happily
All these new bikes are so low the pedals literally drag on the ground 🤣
$6300.00. What people...what class of people, consider $6300.00, moral to spend on a bicycle? e-bikes are not for everyone, as the industry stated they would be back in the 1990's.
Hey Pilgram, I don't class myself anything other than a hard working family man who after 30 years of owning and operating my own business, working extended hours and missing out on many things most are not prepared to go without because of this.
I own one.
I hope that answers your question.
