As of patch 1.3, dodge jumping with Maneuvering System no longer increases your velocity. This mod is required to restore movement mechanics to its pre patch 1.3 state: www.nexusmods..... Big thanks to PotatoOfDoom.
That sword is beautiful, must be some kind of Arasaka heirloom since it looks really traditional
hows 1.5 affect the viability of builds like this? Looks like Tech will be a lot more important now for crafting.
I'm testing things now. The CET component of PotatoOfDoom's mod still works so you can still bunnyhop with maneuvering system. K-jumping does not work because Kerensikov (and time dilation mechanics in general) have changed significantly.
When you dodge, you get a burst of speed and the momentum from that dodge carries over into time dilation (even Scan Mode).
With Legendary Kerensikov you have 3.5 second duration. It takes about 1.5 seconds of that to slow down to 90% time dilation. I'm not used to it so I activate it too soon or too late and either undershoot or overshoot my target a lot.
For the full 3.5 seconds you cannot dodge or jump. This makes it a lot trickier to maneuver with. You cannot cancel its duration early by releasing block.
Its still possible to one shot trash mobs at level 50 even without critting because strong attack base damage is so high but its not guaranteed. I switched from Satori to Jinchu Maru because the main thing is to shock proc on crit and Jinchu Maru's passive doubles your crit rate while Kerensikov is active.
With the loss of crit rate and crit multiplier you are looking at 4k to 20k ish non crits with a level 50 epic Jinchu Maru and 8k to 40kish crits. This is with 29% crit chance before buffs and 98% crit damage. This is down from 100% crit chance and 300% crit damage in v1.31. Blade damage is so variable because of the way the 3 main blade damage perks work - Judge, Jury, Executioner, Fiery Blast and Float Like a Butterly.
You do the most damage if you dodge (or Kerensikov) before you strike and your target is either at full health or almost dead. You do bad damage if its anything in between. You actually notice these buffs now because the numbers aren't so stupid you one shot everything with normals.
Normal attacks are weak and do triple digit non-crits. These are only useful for shock proccing while Kerensikov is active. I wouldn't use them outside Kerensikov.
Enemies are extremely lethal now. Even regular Kabuki joes that you outscale by 5 levels can triple tap you for your entire life bar with 2000 armour (down from over 6000 in v1.31). Letting enemies shoot you is really bad but it just means you need to use Optical Camo, Cripple Movement, Reboot Optics, Weapon Glitch etc. Gameplay is a bit less fluid because you can't hotkey quickhacks but its what I used while leveling up and it still works. Legendary Cripple Movement is still busted.
So overall, it still works. Kinda. Its more difficult to control your movement in Kerensikov and you are less maneuverable now that dodge and jump are disabled for its duration. Crit reliability is bad. Switch to Jinchu Maru to get more value from shock proc. Engaging more than 5 enemies at once in open sight is scary. Don't get shot. You will die, proc second heart then die again before you regain control.
I have not tested this underlevelled and need to start a new playthrough to see how you can level it up without getting owned. I have tried to fight Maxtac. I wouldn't recommend it.
How do you get those cool hands? are you completely chrome?
