Does anyone known how much it would cost for a permanent installation for one of these? They are very fun rides it seems and it's a shame none have been installed permanently in the the states.
Well, the Huss company does not exist anymore, they've gone bankrupt. So you can only buy second-hand. It's up to the seller what they ask for it, good luck! Roughly they usually go about 300.000 euro's
If you ask SAD - Maschinenbau GmbH They can build it for you. A lot of the old HUSS crew is working there now. I think it comes with a very high price tag of 2 or 3 million Euros to build though.
Very interesting compilation of the ride being put together. One thing I'm curious about, I know they run the rides before the public are allowed on to test them. Do you have any form of 'official' who has to examine the ride before they can 'open' it for business.? Much like out Health & Safety obsessed lot in our Country.
Each year they are checked by an official for damages or lack of maintanance, and get their certification if they meet the standards. Also the people that run these rides do care about their ride and maintain it well. Before the ride is approved (like when it is new) A lot more comes to play, these are mainly build in Germany where you have the strictest regulation when it comes to fair rides, the TUV tests the ride in every possible way, even by misbehaving in the rides so they see what can happen in real life. Then when the machine passes the test, every year it gets checked again for rust or any other damages that may cause danger. So you can say in europe, fair rides are pretty safe.

And some countries in Europe does not have yearly checks from TÜV and the Netherlands has sometimes a TÜV check every half year, before the fair opens they check. Last week I was there when TÜV came by and checked.
