I don’t understand how you’re getting 4 inches on each side when you put the strips together. Each strip is 14”x1”. So if you lay four strips across another strip that takes up four inches. 14-4= 10 and 10/2 is 5 so you’re going to have ends that are 5”, not 4”. What am I missing?
You are correct that there may be about an extra 1" left on each side when you put the strips together - it’s just extra wiggle room for folding and weaving the sides. After the basket is finished, the extra can be trimmed off or folded over to the inside of the basket. Thanks for pointing that out - I should have mentioned that.

Hello! I know this video is really old but how many pieces of paper do you need for one basket? I am doing this project with 50 kids at my school and trying to figure out how much paper I need :) Thank you!
Jerrica Peterson hi youll require 75 to 80 paper.... in 3 papers we can make two baskets so for 50 kids 75/80 is more than enough.....

You can always try, but I’m afraid crepe paper might not be sturdy enough for this.

I liked the vid but I wish u would be more descriptive in what we need how many and what size. Otherwise it was pretty good.
She said what materials to use, how many blue and pink strips (which was 4 each), how many white strips (which was also 4 + 1 for handle), and also how long each strip was.
