I have a similar list, but I put David Robinson over Ben Wallace. 1, 2, and 3 - some combination of Dennis Rodman, Bill Russell, Hakeem Olajuwon. It's hard for me to pick one over the other 4. David Robinson. and 5. Ben Wallace
Ben could not guard perimeter players. Hakeem and Russell could switch on perimeter players for single possessions but Rodman was the only player who could effectively guard star players from 1-5 for full quarters. Robinson was an underrated open court and transition defender who got a lot of chasedown steals and blocks. He was a great low post defender and rim protector like Ben but could also play better transition defense than Ben. I wouldn't argue if you put Ben over Robinson, but I'd go with Robinson.
The NBA used to be so much better than what it is today. It's more like a circus now. No competition anymore, it's just entertainment. And defense is a thing of the past.
