  • 'This is the least conservative Tory Party leadership I have ever written about.'
'I don't see a woman of colour, I see an intensely irritating American, third-rate actress doing everything she can to wreck the Royal Family.'
Andrew Pierce and Nigel Farage discuss the current state of the Tory Party, Boris Johnson's commitment to conservatism and being called racist for not liking Meghan Markle.

If the Oxford workers went on strike they were laid off because they didn't need the car bodies made in Swindon. Then you had the madness of the union negotiating a shorter working week when they had hardly ever worked a full week because of strikes & lay offs.

Ha, ha, The Guardian, I used to read The Dandy & The Beano when I was a kid and they were better in my view than The Guardian is now.

His parents may have been able to go to work without concerning themselves about the unions after Thatcher, but I bet their pay rates suffered as a consequence.

it was the poor quality of output that cost then their jobs in the automotive industry, not politicians

@@johnjjl Really. Nissan came to the UK they said because of the skills of the automotive workers here (plus they could pay workers less in the North East and pocket a government subsidy also).

i think at the thatcher time there was a hubris of you need our skills from the unions, an during thatcher that was seen but if you don't do anything your not keeping those skills, then after that the engineering went abroad and sold out. oh the eyes of hindsight of an age, but it was where we were there then without seeing what it could be now. look at history at face value, and the reality and people it happened in, then you learn more from it in the context to now our current reality
