  • China's Human Traffic (1999) - Japanese authorities are fighting against an increasing number of illegal immigrants from China, which is in turn fuelling the drug trade.
    Subscribe to Journeyman here: ruclips.net/user/subscription_c...
In a seedy Tokyo suburb a flat crammed with 6 Chinese immigrants receives a bang on the door at dawn. Immigration police lead the men away to contemplate their return to China without the dreamed-of riches and without the £14,000 payoff for the smugglers that brought them here. Japan is coming to terms with this huge illegal immigration trade that brought it cheap labour but is stirring up its own crime wave as the Chinese smuggling gangs, known as Snakeheads, ship in huge amounts of drugs alongside their human cargo. They're deporting the people that empty their bins and build their houses. Yet still they arrive as fast as they're being caught. Japan is too tempting a jewel. "I heard many people earned money easily in Japan. That's why I came," explains one immigrant. After 6 years working secretly as a builder he's managed to build a 3-storey house back home. There is simply too much money to be made, too many dirty jobs the Japanese don't want to do, and too few immigration officers to catch them.

Did anyone else notice the Japanese police took off their shoes before they entered the house for a raid??
And none of the detainees were put in handcuffs!? They were told to put their hands in their pockets and they did... The Japanese are so polite, even their criminals are polite!! LOL!

Exactly, the levels of propaganda against Japan pushed by CCP are hideous. The populous is more than happy to eat it up. But when push comes to shove in the wallets of Chinese citizens, there all goody about migrating to Japan. The "we hate Japan" is basically a pathetic cry of envy against the more economically, politically, socially freer Japan.

    • @TalesOfGod

I strongly disagree. Japan needs immigrants more than any other country does to sustain their economy and they damn well know it. They are one of the hardest countries to immigrate to and have been proven to be xenophobic with their government policies. The current Japanese intern program is one of the worst in the world and these people are just trying to immigrate somewhere where they will have a chance at a good life (as opposed to the poor quality of life that they face in communist China).
When Japan stops being a coward and stops being so xenophobic then they will be able to thrive. If not, Japan will surely suffer greatly in the next decades to come. After all, it is fact that it was the Americans who gave Japan the economy that it has today.

+許少彥 really? I didn't know that it was so old. Yeah now that Japan would want them. .there is very little reason for a Chinese to enter Japan illegally to work. China has a huge roaring, fastest growing economy. No need to work abroad.

+許少彥 You should stop telling lies. First of all, according to Japanese government, Japan still deports more than 100 illegal Chinese citizens per year. And very clearly, even Japan has an aging population, according to PM Abe, the solution of it is not to accept foreign immigration because it is commonly considered by the Japanese people that it necessitates to keep a homogeneous society. Some time accepting the truth instead of denying it would make you look better

Kid, unfortunately, according to Ministry of Justice of Japan, on January 1, Heisei 27 (2015), which was last year, there were 8,647 CHINESE illegal immigrants in Japan, which was 14.4% of the whole illegal immigrant population in Japan, and this number increased 4.6% compared to 2014.
the number of Those Chinese illegal immigrants who were expelled from Japan, reached a new height last year, 355 people, more than 10 percent! certainly the TOP source country of illegal immigrants to Japan.
And now, look at your comment, you don't feel remorse for all the troubles brought by your brethren, but never stop to make excuses. But very fortunately, we all know that that's the characteristics of CHINESE.
      HAHA, shame on you!
PM Abe had said that Japan won't allow immigration even the population is aging. Your rumor is disgusting.

"According to the Ministry of Justice, in the case of Japan, there are 67,065 illegal immigrants. The country which produces the biggest number of undocumented immigrants is Korea, and Korean undocumented immigrants account for the quarter of the total amount. The second is China. It produces about 10% of the total. The reasons why they stay Japan illegally are various. The most common one is expire of short stay visa, and it accounts for about 70%."
Get your facts straight Western Media. The biggest illegal immigrants in Japan are Korean, but the truth is most of them simply are overstaying with an expired visa. The issue of illegal immigration in Japan when compared to the situation in Europe and America is non-existent. Japan is a very safe and fine country. In perspective, in Guangzhou China there are over 100,000 illegal Blacks.

This video is probably 25 years old; nowadays and unfortunately, the mentality of "Chinese immigrants as suspicious characters" persists, but Japan in 2013-2014 actually needs Chinese immigrants to survive economically. Ten thousand pick vegetables here now, for example, and universities and colleges desperately woo them in droves because unlike Vietnamese or Nepali or some other immigrant groups, they learn Japanese quickly and fluently. The number of legal Chinese immigrants has fallen since at least 2010 and the ramifications are just starting to be felt in businesses where they were spending their money.

Illegal immigration is impossible to stop entirely because the ways to get into a country are too numerous for authorities to fully control. Plus, lots of illegal immigrants end up illegal because they overstay their visas, so they CAN'T be stopped when they enter because they're legal then. That's not to say authorities shouldn't be trying, but for those who complain that "nothing is being done," do try to understand this point.

This Video Seems OLD. maybe from the early 90's etc, now that China is more wealthy, I doubt there is massive Chinese migration into Japan. Just my opinion on the matter. You can tell the video is old from the clothes, and the landscapes of Japan.

At 0:15 it says this was aired in December 1999. They have bought and released a batch of videos along the theme of China-Japan relations over the last week or so. Some are more tha 10 yrs old. It's timely that they explore this theme now given the current tensions, but it would also be good if the age of each documentary was made more prominent

To anyone ignorant of this fact, this show premiered on 14 Dec 1999 (www.journeyman.tv/9237/short-films/china39s-human-traffic.html). I don't think the situation is this bad anymore, on the basis that China has progressed socially and economically at an accelerated pace over the past 16 years. And it's really misleading for Journeyman Pictures to portray it as a current issue when it's not.

In exchange, we should "learn" the language and how to be "civilised citizens". Censor crimes (in the media) that is committed by immigrants so we won't have a bad name. I believe this is a really old problem. There was even a Jackie Chan movie about it. In the last 15 years or so, China's domestic economy has picked up steam and it is easier to get jobs and earn back home than to take the risk to illegally enter Japan. This led to the tapering off of the number of illegal migrants.
Add to this, the relationship between Japan and China has been very tense with sporadic fights and this has eliminated the illegal immigration to Japan as it would put them in the scope of the CCP - you never want to be in the scope of the CCP. They're ruthless.

I’ve seen African immigrants in Italy. The first generation are trouble. They are in train stations, use drugs, blow up stuff, etc. But the second generation are perfectly normal people. And even so, the first generation are probably doing their best to survive. I’m 100% in support of immigrants and refugees staying, if they found a better country to be in.

This problem also happen because Japanese people refuse the use of a mandatory national ID for everyone to be carried around.
If you are a japanese-looking person no-one will ever ask for your ID, thus, illegal chinese will only have to look "japanese-enough" in order to be safe.
And on the other hand, legal westerners living in Japan face all kinds of hurdles and police stops for the mere facts that they look foreigners.
Top that with the fact that foreigners are often considered a second class citizen, sort of a use-and-throw-away resource (a.k.a. after a while they are encouraged to leave) and you have this situation in Japan today.
Illegal immigration is Japan's self-made problem.
