Re the 20mph speed limit.
As a British Immigrant in , I had an experience of someone trying to save time by cutting me up on his motorbike rather than waiting a few seconds for me to pass.
Accident procedure in Thailand consists of:
Stopping where the accident happened.
Waiting for an Insurance Agent and the police to appear.
Getting approval to move the car.
After retrieving the CCTV evidence at the police station and the form filling, I continued my journey 4 and a half hours later!!!!
All down to impatience.
I have an answer for “Spain has 11% unemployment” Phil. The unemployment in Spain is 11% because:
1- Spain had a 30% unemployment rate after 2008. So the EU has reduced it by more than half.
2- Because all EU members are sovereign to do good and bad. And in Spain we tend to do bad. That’s it.
South Africa has an unemployment rate of 29% and they AREN’T in the EU.
Why aren’t we talking about that? Hmmm, hmmmm?!?
Since apparently all countries inside the EU are equal as are all those outside.

Also unemployment rate on its own means nothing. We had the lowest unemployment recently because there weren’t enough people to staff the farms and hospitals - it’s not a good thing

Re electric car guy.
He said batteries aren't efficient. They are 80% efficient vs 20 for an ice car. Sorry but he's wrong.
It's not eco friendly? It is. In 10 years they have 6 to 9 tonnes of co2 vs 40 to 60 tonnes for an ice car. So wrong again
As for slave labour (for the cobalt) nope so wrong again. In fact many evs don't use cobalt. Those few that do have signed an environmentally sourced programme. Flip side of that we have cobalt used to remove sulphur from petrol and the automakers have declined to join the environmentally and responsible sourcing program. Also even when evs did have cobalt etc aboit 99% of it was from responsible places. So wrong again
"They'll shut us down" and "control us" not true. All cars can be stopped, they simply stop the petrol tankers. An ev is harder to stop if you charge from solar and disconnect from network. As for control, its utter bs from oil media to stop people going ev... they're controlling you not the greener evs
