I agree with this point that you can't compare Singapore to the country of Britain, but to call Singapore as "just" a port with a banking racket was uncalled for. We may seem like a rich country statistically sure, but that does not mean the majority of the country's people aren't made up of the working class. The caller mentioned Singapore for his own advantage and he did so wrongfully. But it does also point to the fact that we rank so high in education because our "Banking racket" country invests a lot of our taxation funds into the education system and, because of this, the public school system holds a high standard.
Also kudos to the Pro Palestine callers and Nick not giving a lot of pushback to them.
Caller crying about Tax , here in the Netherlands income up to and including €73,031 is taxed at 36,93 % rising to 49,50% above €73,031 , and rising to 52% above €100,000+ , making things work costs money ? That's why the Netherlands is happier prosperous and have equality. In Britain the poverty and under education and pushing people with poor iq, mental halt problems to all blame each other, has led to deep inequality and rising hatred. It stems back to thatcher and Reagan, the creation of a vast middle class also created an underclass in usa and the uk. I'm angry as I've watched what's happened to my country. Leaving the eu has made things even worse but that's what the rich wanted. People have are dieing in the uk from lack of health care mental health problems and despair. Hundreds have died going through our benefits system because they were either denied or took their own life. Most Britain's aren't aware of how bad it is for the lowest 20%, the poor vulnerable and sick and disabled. Then they whine about paying tax. It's the greed thatcher and regean cultivated in the 80's✌

Dude net zero is going to cost me 8 grand for new central heating and probably 20 grand to insulate my house. The electric car will probably add 6 grand to the price of the second hand car I would have bought. So my net zero bill is already 34 thousand. I will have to downsize my end terrace house to a flat to pay for that. Net zero is not free.
