    The idea of Osborn mentoring Peter instead of Stark sounds really interesting. A key thing about that character is that he is very much the antithesis of what Spider-Man is philosophically in that he uses his power and position to get what he wants selfishly, so I wonder if Osborn is actually going to mentor Peter or just use him as a means to an end. Osborn in this show could essentially represent Tony Stark if he hadn't been humbled or grounded by events such as being captured by the Ten Rings or being traumatized after the Battle of New York. He's someone with all the resources but none of the morality or devotion to responsibility, and Peter at this stage isn't aware of that

    The big problem I’ve had with the current MCU is that every movie/tv show feels like it needs to introduce “Big Set Piece A/B/C/etc” and then have 15 other movies/shows do the same thing but never acknowledge the other big set pieces, so things are just set up with… no payoff or connection. Plus it just feels like certain characters/things are introduced to play towards fans and have no substance.
    It will be so good to have something MCU related that DOESNT HAVE TO TIE INTO SOMETHING ELSE. MORE STANDALONE STUFF WITH NO NEED TO SET ANOTHER THING UP PLEASE.

    Norman Osborn mentoring Peter Parker's early hero career but manipulating him so that he can escalate into new positions of power sounds like a crazy cool idea for a comic book. Even when Tony Stark was around in the MCU I thought his relation with Peter in the movies should've shown how toxic and manipulative Iron-Man can be, to make him closer to his original counterpart, and have Peter Parker change sides to aid Captain America.
    The fact that this is not set in the main timeline means that now Marvel could be more experimental and give green light to more independent projects.

    Literally the only comic book movie I’ve seen this year is the Dr Strange sequel. I can easily recommend Thirteen Lives, it’s a really good adaptation of a real life event, it’s on Amazon Prime, and I really want more people to see this movie. It’s got the Penguin from that comic book movie I haven’t seen 8/10 would recommend.

    Can I just say I love the shit out of this art-style! The Homemade suit looks great and the classic suit looks great and probably one of my favorite designs. Peter’s design teeters the edge on looking like Tom Holland with a mix of 60’s Peter which looks great.
    I definitely hope this show is good cause if not this is my only documented praise.

    I don’t like the idea that we couldn’t have had an in-canon Spider-Man prequel show set in the MCU that couldn’t be meaningful, while not contradicting the MCU timeline.
    I mean, first season of Daredevil slots into the MCU timeline fine and is super well written and meaningful.
    But I agree that I like it being unrelated so it isn’t limited by the MCU canon AT ALL so they can do whatever they want.

    • @paxtonstewart8042
      @paxtonstewart8042 2 года назад +3

      I feel like a prequel style thing doesn’t necessarily need a show. I could see part of the next movie being dedicated to flashbacks showing the different events of how Peter met his friends, contrasted with his loneliness

    • @toontrooper4103
      @toontrooper4103 2 года назад +3

      Yeah Daredevil was good but it wasn't a prequel. Spidey's different in just that we see everything that happens after that point so anything he does would have to make sure it doesn't contradict his specific canon.
