    These people who keep defending James, keep living on with your depressing lives. He never said James was bad, he pointed out a few mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes that can be pointed out. It's not an insult, it's constructive criticism. You guys insulting Adam for doing what he's supposed to do is just plain sad. He's a vocal coach, and criticism is literally his strong point. And when he reacts to this video he's meant to actually review the video and not just worship James as a god.

    Dude, I've found the Marc Martel videos have been extremely informative and love the way you analyse these performers with how they sing, the techniques that the average person (like me) doesn't really have any depth or understanding for how they hit certain notes or how they sing in certain styles to actually get through the song they're performing. Who would've ever known there is this much work that goes into singing great?! This video once again shows your depth and understanding of your art and how you simplify it so well for people like me. Just can't enjoy these manufactured voices. The articulation seems to deliberately heavy and phrasing seems to be elongated. I wonder what they would sound like if they were not doing a sound alike to suit today's industry standards and trained their natural voice. Case in point, back in the day you had vocal rarities such as Tom Jones, Luther Vandross, BJ Thomas, Andy Williams, Sting, Steve Perry, Stevie Wonder, Freddie Mercury, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and so many other greats who stayed true to the refinement of their natural voices. Now we have entered into the era of cookie cutter voices with the exception of vocalists like Josh Groban, Michael Buble, David Phelps along with a host of others. The pop industry has gone a direction dictated by the industry suits.

      @maninthewilderness3208 5 лет назад +2

      @@normiegyal4552 I disagree, I believe this to be a contrived accent, not necessarily a product of being English. If this was the case, Pete Townsend (The Who) Elton John, Cliff Richards, Tom Jones (South Wales) and Jeff Lynne (ELO) as with many others would have this similar phrasing when singing. My point is, this vocal phrasing of words is the sought after sound in our modern pop age. If I'm wrong, which could be the case, then the American singers are just trying to mimic their English singing counterparts. Now to the contrary of my given opinion, Sam Smith who is English is an incredible vocalist who delivers with this similar accent. Maybe Sam has set a vocal precedent. English singers of yesteryear did not have this sound. This is a new era of voice; a different genre if you will. Adam demonstrates James Arthur's articulation and states it best..."very rounded and at the back of the throat".

      Man in The Wilderness and also listen to some interviews with him, I don’t think it’s a fake accent as you say. Also, compare his voice to most singers who are tenors and for the most part sound very similar, which today seems to be the new trend, he’s a lot different. He can hit high notes but he also has a deeper voice.
