Fact from my side: During school days, I was a big fan for Rajinikanth and my cousin was a big fan of Vijayakanth. We used to fight just like fans today fight for Ajith and Vijay but only in words. But when there are two legends already in power both the Kalaignar and Amma in politics, I saw Vijayakanth's guts to build a party and named as DMDK, we as a youngster were much impressed and hope to see him as our CM, for that I cast my first-ever vote for an unknown person in my constitution, though the person failed even for a deposit; we were very happy to hear Vijayakanth won the Madurai constituency and we came to know more number of Youngsters cast the vote for his party around Tamizh Nadu; but when everyone insults him with the memes and videos, I used to get upset and I am still in hope that he will become our CM one unexpected day. Only after 2 or 3 years after he created his party, we understood he sold out almost all his own earned properties for creating the party. Later started knowing all his sacrifice and helping tendency. A living Gentleman. Royal Salute to him.
