    So much easier to follow than Subaru’s video. Thanks Chester!!

    Just one correction: on 2019 model, hit Subaru button (not lock button) after chirps and before putting in code.

      Thank God for your comment. This system is rather frustrating after enjoying Ford's superiority, but your comment made this bearable.

    I called the dealer and spoke with Chester. I was pushing the button on the door first and it wasn't giving giving me the faint beeps. I then pushed the lock button on the fob first, then pushed and held the PIN Access button and it worked. Thank you Chester!

    Does this same code you pick have to be programmed for both fobs, and will it allow you to start the car also?

    • @ChesterLovesCars
      @ChesterLovesCars  4 года назад

      Yes, same code for both fobs. No this will not start the car

      Chester LovesCars How do I get the fobs to open the car and start it? Is that a dealer job? Thanks for the informative video, very clear.

      @@martinmerchant7717 Yes, that would be a dealer install. You always have the option for aftermarket options as well

    Could not get this to work - until I upped my Starlink sub from whatever the basic sub is to the higher level that allows remote start. Kudos to you for mentioning remote start in your vid. I'd tried everything with no luck (and I want to point out that the most-watched YT vids on this PIN are inconsistent with each other!). It looks like you can't do this without the middle tier Starlink sub. (2021 Outback Touring XT)

    I have a 2017 Outback after holding the lock button down and pressing the pin code button it takes awhile for the chirp then it chirps 27 times then stops. I then press the pin code button to enter my pin and it chirps after each of the first two presses and stops. Why?

    Where does one go to the crazy dimensions of your universe of Subaru offering a Crosstrek with a power rear gate?
    What madness

    Hello Chester. Great video. I have 2019 Forester sport. It does not start chirping when I push/hold lock button on the fob + push/hold PIN button. Should it be first enabled from somewhere or?
    Thanks jn advance

      I have found that sometimes the timing has to be "just right" for push/hold those buttons. Subaru should make it easier!

    Better than even Subaru's own video. This is the way that works. Subaru's manual and explanation video are worth nothing compared to this clip

    Hi Chester. How do I do this with the key fob for 2011 Subaru Legacy. The key fob are different from yours.

    • @ChesterLovesCars
      @ChesterLovesCars  5 лет назад

      That is an excellent question! I'm not familiar enough with the 2011 model to explain it, try a little research on Google I'll follow up if I find anything

    Am i the only one that thinks using the fob is so much easier?

      also the only one missing the point.
      It is so you can lock your keys in the car, when you go off on an adventure and might damage your keys, or get them stolen when you leave them in your shoe at the beach, when swimming.

    Great explanation. Will the same process work on '18 models? And once a pin is set, can I simply toggle the remote on and off each time I want to use this feature? Or do I have to set a pin every time?

    • @ChesterLovesCars
      @ChesterLovesCars  5 лет назад

      Should work the same for 2018. Yes, after you set the pin just toggle the remote every time after that

    What happens if when trying to open the car with the PIN you make a mistake. How do you start over from the first number again?

    Worthless. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, in this video works.
