I was there that night just saw myself dancing away in my leather flying jacket I recorded it back then but it got lost great to see it again thanks so much
I was here that night, great gig, one of the best :-) I remeber bunking off school to get there early to get to the front but the line was already down the road :-)
Construction это СУКА музыка, Как их прет без наркоты) А постсоветские фаны:"Ах какой спирит, ах какой ексайтер,ах какой анджел- они стали ещё лучше"...да дермо в новом тысячалетии а не ДМ
I am a fan of Alan's, not the rest of them, but I like watching the videos, especially from this era as they take me straight back to the 1980s. It does seem odd that they never play their early albums now - isn't it all collectively music? Why are they ashamed of Speak and Spell and Construction Time Again? Get out there and play them all - I am sure all their diehard, devoted legions of fans would love to hear those albums played again.
Bham Odeon what a great place .. About £3.50 for a concert just pile down the front , no tossers stagediving etc everyone just having a great time... Fair play to DM they have stood the test of time basically as they are a bloody good underated band.... Normally missed the last bus home ... Try Walking in my shoes !!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone here remember the organisers asking us to all cheer like crazy before DM came on so they could record it and add it to the real cheering when they actually did come onstage? (Because there weren't enough people in there even though it was packed)
Best Show and Tour of DEPECHE MODE ever... opening with Everything Counts it's so great!!!... and the complete setlist of Construction Tour cool too... really '83-'84 Best Depeche Mode ERA !!!!
Audience going mad at start of Just Can't Get Enough @29:34 not a single camera phone in site spoiling the view or the atmosphere! Just how concerts should be.
Back in the 80s you would have been forcefully ejected from the concert and device confiscated or destroyed! They padded you down before you entered more then the TSA security at airports! It was hard to sneak in camera or recorder back then
Can anyone clarify whether 'Photographic' was broadcast when this was shown? In the versions I've seen, it's either missing or added at the end. It's clearly from the same concert but seems cut off. Was it shown separately or something? Edit: It wasn't in the initial broadcast but was shown in the next episode due to viewer demand (mentioned by Peter Powell during the episode after this, as well as DM on Saturday Superstore).
Nice, but not exactly the best live version of Everything Counts. 101 is way better! But it's really cool to see them doing live all those songs they never ever played after that. At the same time,Shame woud hardly fit in any of their setlists these days.
Hahaha, reporter is standing just besides DM`s rolling reeltoreel tape machine 11:00 (where half of the sounds are coming from). One move to wrong direction and whole show would be finished.
@@statefree actually for every sake basically all the sounds were put on tape, vocals too, to 4 tracks. Tracks were switched on or off, if needed. "Everything Counts" was so difficult song for Dave that many years the vocals came from tape during the live shows. Here it is live but if you listen carefully, many phrases are unlistenable due the Dave`s limits.
@@statefree there are plenty of interviews with DM staff and ex crew members around. There is an interview with a sound engineer who talked about how they made the backing track tapes (early 90s, they made on the dat tapes). It was surprisingly complicated process and he mentioned that Dave's vocals were included too.
@@marguskiis7711 I know my friend, but I just enjoy the music. I'm not very interested in the technical stuff. Even on this 2023 tour there are moments when nor Peter nor Martin are touching the keys, but the sound goes on. I don't mind, I don't care, I just love the product in itself. :)
13:55 Alan’s soft “yeah”. Then he just looks at her. His voice is so nice!
Everything about him! He. Is. Adorable. 😍
Look at their hair, especially Dave's and Alan's! Looked great back then. Always were so stylish. Who did their hair for them?
I bet Alan's wife (Jeri) did his hair and dressed him. Always class and style on the stage. 💖 Looks good still.

Amazing to find this video of DM’s early days. So raw. So young. Love every minute of it.
I was there ! Got the ticket somewhere !
+ben longstaff oh, these good Ancient times...

Haha, I did the same with Duran Duran in '82 at The Brighton Centre. Great days,
Excellent! Depeche Mode's industrial music is the best!

Не знаю о чем они поют, но какая радость слышать эту музыку и эти голоса!

Best front man ever
interesting as it's basically 101 version

Good
People pay all this money to see concerts and them watch them in these tiny digital screens like wtf?

the drum machine is called and only the "drums" are from that tape. not even 10% of their sounds
