- For all my episodes I prepare copious notes and questions to try and get to know my guests, but from the moment the tape started rolling on my interview with drag queen and comedian Bianca Del Rio, I tossed them aside and let her do all the talking. One of my favorite episodes of In Bed with Joan was with Bianca 😆 love this podcast!
I know I watched it last night again I could watch that episode every day. When Joan could not stop laughing was the best along with the crew member in the background non/stop laughing was epic.

I saw Joan live once and she tossed the potted plants from the stage to the audience and told them to take it home "I paid for this! Take it all!"
I saw that on YT, that was hilarious. She had such a way of saying and doing things.
I saw that show as well. My stomach ACHED for days afterwards from laughing so hard. She perfected “going in”.
Is Bianca Del Rio actually some kind of overlapping reincarnation of Joan Rivers? Hearing Mellissa draw all these parallels between the two is uncanny.

I think Melissa grew up with the classic insult comics all around her especially with someone like Joan Rivers as her mother and Don Rickles as a family friend and Bianca is the only one I can think of who has that quick witty but never malicious style and I think its so nice to know that Bianca did an interview with Joan before❤

This is one of my favorite Bianca interviews since In Bed With Joan (which in an internet classic; I re-watch it every few months). A perfect match!

The first guest should be Sofia Vergara . 10 years ago I typed in the Joan and Melissa show in Be with Joan "Bianca could replace Joan, if she dies " and I got a lot of negative negativity, that I had to delete. I fell in love with Bianca when I first saw her on Season 6. She has not changed and I love her for continuing to be real. One person I would love to meet--even if she did read me for filth!

It's what I love about comedy is that it provides a place to laugh at the absolutely obsurd thoughts that fly through ALL of our heads every day. We all have them. Literally every single one of us! Comedy is that safe space to let it out knowing we don't actually mean this crap and it's just the absurdity of life and us as humans. I think the issue around comics lately comes more from the fact that to see and experience comedy we used to have to go to the club to see it. We entered their space. But today, we turn on the TV and watch it forgetting that we are watching a recording of them in their space and in that safe space to laugh. We act like they're in our actual home but they're not. As if they just walked up to us on the street unprovoked and just started saying crap. It's not a Ted Talk or documentary either. In the words of Joan, "These are just jokes, you assholes!"

The definite difference with Del Rio is, His/Her intelligence. That's what is boils down too. That quick wit, crazy good answers, and obvious brain in His/Her head. Plus, Bianca may have a crazy act, but it's done in a way that Bianca I believe wouldn't go tooooo far. Maybe a bit, but I think He/her (I don't want to be wrong here, forget it) would draw back if it was way too hurtful to someone.
Look at Paulina P. the SuperModel, She's very intelligent, went far with her career, very out spoken, but well respected, Got blitzed by her husband when he died, but that was his issue, not hers.

Lol! I find "Forensic Files" comforting as well. I have a picture of Peter Thomas, the original FF narrator, on my phone. Not me with him (I think he passed the year I started watching the show [2016])-just a silver foxy portrait of him in his 80s. Remember, the cases they discussed focused on f*cked up crimes and the new (at the time) ways they were solved-things that are obvious to us now. But-agreed-those fools didn't know how to commit crimes since they did get caught. That hot glue chamber intrigues me...
Watched the cosmopolitan video a few nights back. I saw she was doing a tour. Nah she isn’t coming to RVA. That place is nowhere.

I met Joan twice and we all miss her so much! The world needs Joan’s politically incorrect humor so bad right now. So sick of the thinkskinned people who are always looking for ways to feel offended. And I’m sick of comedians and others in Hollywood and in everyday life, backing down to the cry babies.

Roy is being his humble self ... even after DR season 35, Bianca Del Rio will be on another level. To quote a certain RHONY housewife; "She's up here ... they're down there". BTW, many of is love MTG and BDR ... one is not exclusive of the other. Since you brought up politics, thank you for not playing the "the world is coming for drag queens" victimology (that is ruining the current season of DR) ... we love and respect our raunchy drag queens (in after hours gay bars); not in kid's f-ing classrooms.
