Unfortunately, don't think Voight saw this coming. What he could've done was to request dispatch to get that specific unit to another call, so the case could go smoothly. But, if he did that, things might go odd.
If he intervened, the case would be thrown out the window. Atwater tried to diffuse the situation to the best of his ability without getting his cover blown. If he blew his cover, the case is burned and will have to start the case from scratch and it isn't easy redoing it.
At least, it leads to another story for Atwater.

That happens so often in the US (and the cops get off without even a reprimand) that it doesn't matter.
What *matters* (and will probably cost the cop his career) is that he shot one of Intelligence's CIs and put his hands on an undercover officer after failing to follow procedure in front of him. I expect a lot of horse trading whilst his shift supervisor tries to bargain Voight out of bringing a formal charge of misconduct against his boy.

A show is about what happens in today’s society, there crooked cops since they pull that racial card. Nobody should shoot someone no matter what race you truly are. In the end all that matters is showing love to others not spreading hate on a tv show channel.😍😍🙏🙏

Fake silly episode. Chicago police are the best and would never do what they portrayed in this fake show. I live in Chicago and the only ones killing blacks every single day are other blacks. They cry Black lives Matter yet they kill their own kind endlessly. And THEY kill police here way too often not the other way around. That is reality. Funny thing is the one killed in the show was FAR from innocent. Yet they make him look like he victim what a joke!
