    I had a 2019 Jetta SE and my wife had a 2020 Passat as a rental for work. After driving that I had to head to my dealer and check out one out as my lease was ending soon. I ended up going home with a 2022 Passat SE. The ride is so smooth on 18” wheels. The space inside is amazing, fuel economy is great, remote start, car net, and home link. It’s not the sportiest but it’s nice. I’m happy with it

    I still love my 2014 Passat 1.8 TSI manual, it's the best daily driver I can think of. I've driven across Canada and did 1200 km's with one tank with all my stuff in back and was able to fold the backseat and sleep in it! For the size, price and the driving dynamics I think it's a great car. It never gave me issues since day one and it's still going strong. I bought it new! Unfortunately i won't be able to replace it with another Passat. VW did not keep it up to date, they simply wanted to kill it for the market and that they did.

    If they'd ramp up their appeal...maybe the sedans (dare I say a 2 door ) would sell better. I can't stand driving a bulkmobile (SUV/CUV/TRUCK). Too heavy and not very nimble in handling. Still like a low center of gravity and light car. Passat offers a terrific range and room. Handles better than it looks. Really, the big thing, would be a more responsive engine. IMHO, the 1.8 was better. They've a perfectly good 2.0 with 200+ hp. Why not use that engine in the Passat? GTI always comes across as expensive to me. Not that it is a bad vehicle, but it seems pricey. I'm not sold on the hatchback look. I had a CC and a Passat at the same time. I liked the Passat better: it's braking was better and was more tossable. The CC's brake pedal went to the floor (nearly) before you felt braking. That scared me a bit and in one incident on U.S. near Canton, MI almost resulted in me rear ending someone. But, the CC's driving nannies were much less intrusive. I would have preferred a merger of the two. The CC's looks and interior with the conventional automatic (over the DCT) and the larger fuel tank and better brake pedal operation.

      Get a camry hybrid and you will feel that you don't need anything else for a while. Base 4 banger is an easy choice too. Don't buy this model since it's going to be dropped in the near future (getting parts usually is hard and expensive on a VW for some reason)

    It feels like a failure compared to the competition. The interior is just dated, the exterior is nice but other than not an eye-catcher. For the price your better off with an Accord, Camry, and Mazda 6 since they are up to date with tech. I am not saying that it is a totally awful car just not a good value anymore in my opinion to the competition.

    • @persiashahdi5215
      @persiashahdi5215 3 года назад

      I'd actually say the interior is a high point for this car. It's old fashioned but nice and clean. Exterior agreed. And also agree that I'd take an Accord, Camry or Mazda 6 over this.

    • @Isles8
      @Isles8 3 года назад

      I mean it isn't bad but can't help but think it feels a little dated, also the ride they should have upgraded that in my opinion. Just is not class leading anymore but I think that's because they plan to discontinue this model.

    (one of) the sad reason(s) most americans buy crappy suv's and cuv's, they just keep getting the crap version of nice, somewhat affordable normal cars that then don't sell
    We used to have a 240ps diesel passat in the family, just as the new one came out, and it was extremley nice and fairly inexpensive compared to a comparable E class or similar
