Wonderful Interview! Kevin is a very likable guest. 😊❤
From my personal experience watching reaction channels I can try to explain why I watch one and don’t watch another. (Don’t know if it helps…)
First of all I try not to subscribe to any channels I don’t want to watch for multiple kinds of videos. (Not anymore) It’s really stressful to get so many notifications for things you’re Not really interested in, trying to find the stuff you like.
Unfortunately there are still too many subscriptions left, so that some drown out others, that are even more important to me. 😅
I only WANT to watch YT videos for information and research. But what happens is that I get distracted by Dimash-videos (but I don’t really feel bad about it, since I love Dimash content 😅)
And the order I choose reactors is
1: They love Dimash or some few other artists (but not necessarily always the same ones - other than Dimash - I hop on to new stuff frequently)
2: They are musicians and can explain in detail why they love my favorites.
3: They are brand new to Dimash!
    4. But I only subscribe and watch other content from them if
    - they are musicians
    Or
    - if they are very entertaining AND have similar tastes to mine - but other than you Daniel this doesn’t happen very often. 😅
(Other viewers prefer the entertaining channels to the knowledge-providers though)
Content generally has to provide one of 3 things:
    - Knowledge (useful for something)
    - Entertainment (evokes emotions)
    - Inspiration (motivates to do something)
Preferably all three in one video, even if the focus is on one.
I strongly suspect, that most people watch reaction videos for their favorites. So it doesn’t make sense for a reactor to publish reactions to videos they don’t like. The ones that have the same opinion won’t watch the video and the fans basically get criticized for their taste.
So be honest, but consider not posting it, if you can’t find any positives. 😜
The fastest way for me to never return is when someone can only criticize, but can’t take criticism themselves.
Some fans are very harsh and unfair, and deserve to be blocked, but if the reactor answers in the same tone, I know I don’t want to spend time on their channel. Because they usually also don’t care about their community.
If someone takes the time out of their own busy lives to criticize you constructively, that is a gift! 🎁 That gives you the opportunity to either change something to make your channel more attractive for future audiences or to explain to everyone why you can’t or don’t want to change things. Getting angry just hurts yourself.
Loved your thoughts on community. ❤
And I can understand that you want to leave memories for your son! That is such a great endeavor! Good luck and much success for you both with your channels! ☺️❤

Oh and Kevin: Don’t worry about having to post reactions to certain artists all the time. Posting too frequently can be counterproductive, because if there are many new reactions to someone and you only have time for a few, sometimes it’s more interesting to watch a reactor that hasn‘t reacted for some time. It feels newer than the one you have just seen yesterday. 😅

Hey good interview, nice to see. Tried to contact you Daniel, but you appear to be stuck down a well, with an owl.

As I Lay Dying just dropped a new single this morning featuring Alex Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail and Tommy Barber from Chelsea Grin. 🤘🏼🎸🎸🥁🎸🎤🤘🏼
The As I Lay Dying’s single is called “We are the Dead.” This song is so good that I have it on repeat constantly. 🤘🏼🥁🎸🎸🎸🎤🤘🏼
