    Thanks for making this video; love it!! My sister told me about Misfits. I’m going to try it in a couple weeks, since just ordered a bunch of fruits & veggies for delivery from Whole Foods Market; quite expensive in comparison!

      Hi Gloria! Thanks for the compliment. I am growing this hair to donate it. It's getting cut off in April and will hopefully be made into a nice wig for a little girl who has lost her hair from chemotherapy. I was raised by fried green tomato eaters, but I don't much enjoy them. Those little tomatoes all turned a lovely bright red within a week and I used them in my quinoa vegetable soup. You can see them in all of their red goodness on the counter in the background in my 2nd video for Misfits Market. ruclips.net/video/u9WNnf_10HM/видео.html

    I ordered the large box. I would say yours was better than mine. The apples and pears they sent were REALLY bruised to a point that my family looked at them and said, "EWWWW." They weren't something I would have purchased at a store for consumption. I am cooking them now to make an apple pear butter and even the middles of the apples were icky. Trying to make lemonade out of the lemons. They sent some root vegetables. The quantity of each one was so small that I would have to combine them together to make a dish, but maybe that is the purpose. They were marketing it as a 4 or more family supply for a week, but I can tell you right now that one would have to be deficient in fruit and vegetable intake to count this as an entire week. To me, the fruits were most disappointing. They're kind of like what you see a store wrap up and discount for a couple of dollars after being kicked around a few times. That, and the large amount of potatoes that I could buy at Trader Joe's (organic, no less) for a low price...I have to say I was excited about this, but am hoping they rectify some of the issues for other customers. I think they may have been overloaded with their marketing being effective and supply wasn't meeting demand at this time. I expected it to be fruits and vegetables oddly shaped that didn't make it as the beauty queens for consumers. Some of the contents seemed like the store was getting ready to throw them out and someone said, "Hey, I'll put that in an order!" Are you still ordering? If so, how have your other boxes been? I'd like for this to turn out well, but I'm only going to give them a two box chance. Agree with the Trump commentary. Speaking of fruits, if I get the next box and have a better experience, I'll post it.

      There are hits and misses and I have found that I have experienced the reverse problem that you are experiencing, I have more produce than I can keep up with and I am going out of my way to preserve what I get. Just yesterday I chopped up and froze 1 and 3/4's of the red peppers and all of the celery I received in my last Mischief box. I got some very small rutabagas in my last shipment also and i simply added them to a cream of potato soup I made and they fit right in. The only vegetables I have received that were not in good shape were several beets that came with my 2nd shipment and they were mushy only days after I received them. If I were you, I would send them an email and let them know what you liked and didn't like about the shipment you received and they may take a few days to get back to you (but I think they are growing rapidly and are trying to keep up with sudden demand) and resolve any of the issues you might have. I have had to throw a few things out but only because I put off cooking them due to a lack of time and know-how. I am still a subscriber and I am 80% happy with all that I have received thus far. I hope your next shipment is better! Peace.

    • @dgoil
      @dgoil 5 лет назад +1

      @@RichardWinfrey I did send an email, and I agree that they are growing so rapidly that some issues are taking place. Second box had another issue. I honestly feel like I have to cook everything in one day or freeze it so things won't go bad. I kind of question where they are getting the produce from at this point.

    • @RichardWinfrey
      @RichardWinfrey  5 лет назад

      @@dgoil I guess I am having better luck. So far only had to throw out a few items. At this time I have no produce on hand at all because Misfit Markets just up and decided to cancel my box which they charged me for on Christmas Eve. I wrote to them and told them that applying a bit of logic would have allowed them to ship my package to me and work around the Holidays. It takes one day for a shipment to get to me from Philadelphia. If they had shipped my box to me Wednesday, I would have gotten it today...I told them they need to get it together.

      lyubavic they should be recycle friendly though

    • @RichardWinfrey
      @RichardWinfrey  5 лет назад

      Actually, they were recyclable plastics. If you check out my second video "Misfits Market Round 2" you'll see that they stepped it up even more with my 2nd shipment and all of the vegetables were in green compostable (?) bags. They note that you should put all of your vegetable clippings, peels, etc. in the bags and throw them in your compost bin. I was really pleased! The entire package was recyclable! You really should try them out. One shipment will do it! These are organic vegetables and the price is excellent considering. This is great for people that are concerned about reducing food waste and those that insist on organic vegetables. What was the shipping cost? Thinking about giving this a try. Seeing all you got I know my dad would enjoy getting this.

    • @RichardWinfrey
      @RichardWinfrey  5 лет назад

      I started out with a promotion, so am getting the Mischief Box for $19.75 plus shipping and it comes to a total of $23.50. I thinks that totally fair for organic produce and with the price of gas being so high nowadays, I save money because it comes to me. I go into sticker shock when I go to the local grocery store. There is no commitment, so you can send one to your dad as a gift. If he likes it, you can sign him up to the every 2 week rotation.
