    It amazes me that a person who commits a premeditated murder would be eligible for parole in only 10 years. Why are the sentences so low in England, Australia, and New Zealand? Why do they bother calling it a life sentence, when it truly isn't.

    • @ExzoSSG
      @ExzoSSG 3 года назад +40

      I've always wondered why they call it a "life sentence" when they are able to get out in 10-25 years. Life should mean for the remainder of their life.

      When you plot to end or destroy another persons life you have forfeit your own. How is sentencing someone to serve 150 years justice? Are you going to revive someone so you can be sure they serve each of their life sentences? Nope, death is earned by these monsters. And luckily prison follows through with justice by getting rid of those who especially target children.

    Must be nice for criminals to plan a murder and given a very lenient sentence.
    It's the victims' families that suffer the life sentence. I'm no longer surprised with the sentence as I have watched crime documentaries from UK, Canada and Australia and they almost give the same sentence. There was a case in UK where a husband killed his wife and buried her somewhere and got only 6 years. There was also woman, together with her sister stabbed her bf, claimed it was an accident and got only 2 years. When she got out she posted pics of the guy on her social media further hurting the victim's family. That's just 2 examples of the many I have watched. If u plan to murder someone, go to these countries and get a really shark of a defense lawyer and you'll be given a very short sentence.

Real Crime has of late, been presenting a panoply of true crime shows from myriad nations, which they themselves did not produce. Real Crime is a British show, mostly produced in the 90s into the early aughts, from what I have seen of their catalogue. It is a quality show. I consider it among the better true crime offerings. As an American, I too seek out true crime series from around the world, including Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, etc...That said, I do bear quite particular regard for this programme. Forensics NZ is an exceptionally rare gem in the pantheon of true crime series. Not since Forensic Files have we seen a programme detail in a wonderfully clear, methodical manner - a voluminous array of up to date forensic techniques, and the science behind them.

    Horrible sentence....not nearly long enough. My question is....if she was afraid of him, WHY did she get in his car? Recovering her laptop was just his excuse. The fact that he went to her place without it, should have been a red flag for her. Such a sad ending.

    Everyone: talking about the sentence, the forensic works, the science
    Me: thinking about how words are pronounced. Axe = eggs, death = deeth, text - ticks, fence = finch, left = lift
    All e becomes ee
    Accents and dialects are amazing. Needs to watch this show more to get accustomed to different dialect of English. I wonder if there's a Scotland based forensic shows. Would be interesting.

    Innocent until PROVEN guilty, knowing that wrong convictions happen all the time, estimates suggest 15%, as a juror, I’d have to believe, without doubt, the suspect is guilty. These videos only show the prosecution’s argument. Was it premeditated murder? I’m 89% sure it was.

Again and again, the British justice is made for criminals ! Why there's no outcry from the British citizen on their injustice system ? I refuse to watch any more crimes from England. The British people (system is made by people) seem to have a bleeding heart for criminals !

    1) He was given LIFE with PAROLE after 10 years.
    2) It doesn't mean he will get out because of the parole.
    3) Most of the time parole gets denied.
    4) I do agree he doesn't even deserve the parole. If it was up to me, he'd get the death penalty.

    The car scenario for this video was absolutely a shitty representation on how making that hard right turn would be impossible. This guy turned too early and then stopped before he could get the chance to see if he could make said turn. Also, they were going like 7 mph, as opposed to the testimonial 30 kph.

    Without chamical analysis, and forensic engineering, we would never have been able to tell the intentional from the accidental.
    OH REALLY?
    Even by anked eye, you could see that her injuries came from more than one single hit. That should have been the nail in the coffin.
    People today just love to dangle the fancey "science" and lost their common sense. It's like, oh, we have all these machines, let's not let them go wasted.

    • @sarahlauer4397
      @sarahlauer4397 3 года назад +1

      It's not that without the "fancy science" they wouldn't have been able to tell this was an intentional, premeditated murder, it's that they can much more definitely prove the suspect's guilt in court. Sure, common sense, basic knowledge of car accidents and being able to tell whether someone is lying could lead you to believe he killed her purposely but that isn't always enough to secure a conviction. In a lot of cases it's obvious who did it and how, but without convincing evidence (fancy science) the obvious perpetrator could walk free or an innocent person could be convicted.

    • @carolesanchez9313
      @carolesanchez9313 3 года назад +1

      @@sarahlauer4397 Well said. Since CSI and other such shows, Jurors rely on forensics a lot more. Common sense is subjective and doesn't cut it for a conviction, while results from 'fancy science' and the 'fancy expensive machines' are hard to refute.
