I'd switch Disc 1 from both Deathly Hallows Pt.1 & 2 from the individual cases to the big case, in order to have nice cover art on all disc. Aditionally, you can move the Extras discs from these 2 movies into a slip and into the case, too. Now you have a definitive, shelf space saving set with all of the movies and all the extras. Though mind you -- if you're really focused on the extras you should get the Hogwarts edition, which include alternate cuts of the first 2 films, all the extras from these releases and a big-ass documentary on the whole franchise.
I have the Wizards Collection (which is all the Hogwarts Collection content plus some memorabilia in a drawer set). It came out before the Hogwarts Collection and only 63,000 copies were produced. I got it for Christmas 2012, and I'm glad I did because it goes for a thousand dollars now because it is so scarce. I recommend the Hogwarts Collection nowadays.
I actually just bought the Wizarding World 9-Film Collection, with all 8 Harry Potter movies AND Fantastic Beasts. Not a big huge bunch of extras in that set, aside from In-Movie Experiences and Maximum Movie Modes where you go behind the scenes while you watch the movie (not going to bother watching those cuz it'd be too distracting from the movie), but definitely a nice choice for the casual fan who's never owned any of the movies and cares more about the movies than about special features. The other major plus to the Wizarding World Collection is that it's the first basic Harry Potter box set---following the massive Hogwarts Collection---to include the extended versions of Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets. But that's only if you get the Blu-ray version, which I did. The DVD edition of the set only has the theatrical versions of those two, which is also the case, in both DVD and Blu-ray formats, with this 8-movie set you just showed us, as well as all your individual movies. I'd highly recommend, if you can afford it, that you make a triple-dip and get the Wizarding World Blu-ray set and check out the extended versions of those two movies. Plus, if you like Fantastic Beasts as well, it's definitely awesome to have it in the same collection as all the Harry Potters ;)
When you play the movie does it come with the unseen scenes ECM recorded a Harry Potter on freeform but I got a new DVR and I don't have it anymore does these DVDs come with the unseen scenes on the movie
The times I’ve gotten individual movies I never ever use the “special features” disc, like ever. I end up throwing it away or losing it. Even on my favorite movies. I guess It’s all about preference. I guess for HP fans is different. I just want to enjoy movie and use less space on my dvd shelf.
I understand that you don't like it.... but how do you manage to lose it or if otherwise throw it away. Is it pain for your eyes to see 2 discs everytime you open the box.... Or are you confused? Not attacking you in any way just interested
How about the lenguages, does the 8 movie collection have different lenguages, i have the collection in regular DVD and I like to watch it in Spanish and English ,but Im looking to up grade
I bought the Blu-ray collection recently. I would prefer a collection with all the bonus features from all the films, unfortunately, the Best Buy Steelbook collection's a bit too far outside my budget range for movie collections, and would probably take up too much shelf space! At least the collection has the bonus content for the first four films, which is more than could be said about the DVD 8 film collection...
Does the individual Blu Ray movies have a main menu screen? I just bought the 8 film Blu Ray set and noticed that there is no main menu screen. Just wondering if the individual movies was different.
Are the new single editions the same content wise as the original releases shown here, I wanna get them all but no way I'm gonna spend all that and not get the extras
Yes, the new single editions have the same, if more content like these. I would advise looking for the best possible deal of course before buying them in store. Check out a black Friday event sale like at Best Buy, Walmart, Target etc. You'll find some good prices for special editions.
My suggestion is to buy Harry Potter Years 1-7 Part 1 Blu Ray. It comes with all the bonus discs for the movies and then you can buy part 2 individually.
That's what I don't understand about Warner Brothers. They make stupid crap like that when the franchise is not even finished. Like the Fantastic Beast set without the last film.
What about the Hogwarts Collection? I think it's the best choice if you are looking for a collector's edition AND bonus content, since it has 45 hours of extras spread along it's 31 discs :) (PLUS nice packaging)
i think they later on added the extras discs because the blu ray sets i saw in the stores here in holland say 11 disc blu ray set instead of 8 disc blu ray set
I very much like my collection, I bought the full collection on blu-ray which includes 2 covers and 11 discs. The 1st cover has the first 5 movies and all other features in 1 disc each. The 2nd contains the last 3 movies with a 2nd disc. What I noticed about Deathly Hollows in your collection is that the 2nd discs have a black background. On my collection Voldemort can be seen.
I prefer all my movies in their own dedicated case, and sometimes if there aren't special features in my set, I find the special features for it at like a thrift store, and then I put them in the case to complete it.
thanks for the info bro, i already buy the 8-film Collection the dvd set just because i wanted that box set but didn't know about the special features dvds or blu-ray not included, thanks for the video :) greetings from Dominican Republic
I wonder if the dvd collection discs come with extras, I would assume they do, becauae it was very common with these type of movies that they would have extras in one disc
Thanks for the info. I like special features and behind the scenes, but I'm fine without, for now anyway. Maybe when I get older, I'll just buy the steel books. :)
Hi I just recently purchased the 8 film collection and 5 of the 8 movie don't have menus when I put the discs in the just auto play the movie and was wondering if yours did that as well with the first 5 movies ?
Yes, they have a lot of discs "in stock" to put them in individual cases to sell them. So these discs are not especially made for this 8-film set. I think that's the "problem" here. I've seen it too in other sets. "Movie Disc 1" and no disc 2 with bonus features are included, because its only the films that you'll get and nothing more than that. But still an interesting set I think. For people who haven't seen any HP film yet, for example. It's much cheaper than seeing every film in the cinema.
So I just bought this 8 disc blu ray set and noticed some things as well. First of all, the discs on mine for Deadly Hollows has images and I noticed that yours are a black shade. Also the image on Half-Blood Prince is sloppy made like the font to the name of the movie is way too big barely fits on the disc and it's crooked, it's like they rushed on it. But, thanks for the video.
Thanks man I'm actually saving up for it but one thing I noticed is that when you showed us they 8 film collection I noticed that they didn't do artwork for that collection so I feel like they just pulled them out from unsold copies and the other thing that made me notice that disc 1 from the individual case and disc 1 from 8 flim collection look exactly the same
Im so mad! I thought i was getting the individual casing, but no, unfortunately. I honestly cant complain cause i paid $24.00 cause of amazon prime day
I finally bought this collection myself and it seems like they’ve updated the last three movies. I have different disks at least the art is much better.
Wait you have a complete 8 movies set, with 11 discs, 3 bonus discs for HP 6, 7part1 7part2 There is year 1-5 in one little box and year 6-7 + bonus discs in the other box.
My collection fell and it broke (not the case the movies fell everywhere my moms gonna kill me!!) please somebody tell me or make a video or send me a link (I have 2 white little pieces and the movies and then the case PLEASE TELL ME 😭🐍) I need serious help.. 🤦♀️ like NOW she might find out soon 🥺
i prefer the 8 film collection i just bought it and nothing's wrong the movies are good u don't miss a lot of thing on the.8 film collection and u can put it in the bag couse its small so i prefer the 8 film collection and its an 8 film collection its fantastic 👍🏻
The european individual 1-6; european because the first is called "Sorcerer's" in America. It truly annoys me how they thought "Philosohper's" doesn't sell. Besides, the american boxes are too thin for me. I like bold cases. As for Deathly Hallows... The "Triple play" editions, please. Very much faithful to the movies' original poster, and both of them have cartboard sleeves.
My mom got me all Harry Potter collection on DVD. I want to buy a Blu Ray so I can let my mom keep DVD because she love Harry Potter. I might buy Blu Ray version for me.
The 8 film collection comes with special features but you didn't compare the backs of the individual movies to the list of special features of the 8 film collection thus defeating the purpose of this video
dude just arrived mine it does not have the halfblood prince disc 1 count thing and they all have artworks on then claim it ur just not lucky and they are real thing HD!
I think that Blu-ray box set should have new labels (Without DISC 1: MOVIE)and have the few features that are on the movie disc...minus the trailer be removed for this release. I HATE those ECHO cases. I wish they stop making them and even placing movies in them.
That's true, but in my case that wouldn't really work for me. Just a matter of preference really. Commentary is something I like seeing in movies and you can't exactly RUclips that. Unless you just listen to the audio or something.
Not a bad price for 8 movies in one box. Especially when its all Harry Potter films. I just think its a bit steep for 60 when it doesn't include all the discs. :/ Good catch anyways. :D
Yyyyeah... doesn’t is have the Special Feature options on the menu tho? I mean. I don’t care about the extra shit. I could just watch that on RUclips. I mostly just care about having each case.
I don't like the sets that just have the seperate boxes or one big cluncky ugly box. If I pay more money to get a special collection, I also want a special box. If I wanted to have the separate boxes I would buy those. Not that I'm greedy or ungrateful or anything
That's just typical of cheap ass Warner Brothers. They never made any good box sets I liked. My Matrix collection is so mediocre. Aside from those limited edition Harry Potter Future Shop steelbook collection and the 2016 steelbook collection and the Target edition which are virtually impossible to find unless you have a lot of money to burn on ebay. Some of them don't even make any sense at all. Like the Fantastic Beast 2-movie set without the last film. The Future Shop steelbook Blu-ray collections, only the last 2 include DVD films as a bonus that makes no sense in a Blu-ray set. My version of this collection came with those discs as you describe.
Thank you. You're the only review I've found for finding out the difference between the two.
I somewhat go straight to the point. Glad I could help. :D
i would prefer individual sets by alot. Mainly becaise i just love to covers
Exactly! Big fan of the HP covers.
i would buy the 8 film collection
Wow thanks for making this video almost would've bought the collection 🙏
Apparently I'm saving quite a few people some money. :D
I dont care about the special features but having that "Disc 1" feels like random sh*t. Thanks for the info!
yess
Thanks so much for this review! Very helpful!

i knew i was gonna be unhappy with that box set, thank you for posting this video
I’m late to this but I all of a sudden had the urge to watch all the movies again, and I found this 8-film collection new in stores for €30!

There's a link on the side of your video showing the complete set for 15$ is that real ??
You can probably get the entire set for about $20 on DVD. Possibly a real one but would recommend getting them from Amazon or Ebay.
So I just bought this 8 disc blu ray set and noticed some things as well. First of all, the discs on mine for Deadly Hollows has images and I noticed that yours are a black shade. Only three of those eight blurays have an extra disc.

I believe that's on the bonus discs. :(
The bonus discs that come with the singles?
Yes, at least one of them does. Bonus materials like that are usually on the extra discs.
Thank you. I was thinking about the other box editions.
Snagged this bluray set for just $17.00 on ebay, brand new!
They go for around $30-35 on ebay, but i would keep an eye out for best offers and etc..
Great to hear! Always a better option to save money on a collection that doesn't include everything. That's the sweet spot right there. :D
Completely agree, thank you! :D

The first five films bring the film and extras on one disc, the last three bring them all on separate discs.
And that's exactly the problem this collecter's set screws up.
That's right, as you say, if you look for the extras, the collection does not work.
I now right
My mom got me all Harry Potter collection on DVD. I want to buy a Blu Ray so I can let my mom keep DVD because she love Harry Potter. I might buy Blu Ray version for me.
I just bought the box 8 film for 29 on Amazon

Each Harry Potter movie came with 2 disks. What's the big deal?
I explained in the video.
That's so dumb! whys it missing the second disk!
That's what I was thinking. I guess to conserve as much room as possible they sacrificed the bonus features discs. :/
+ProjectGibix no, they just used the same disks that were in the original release for the blurays instead of making new ones, cheap!
