      The officer was very respectful.. Patient and treated with the case with wisdom..
      I appreciate his attitude and the passenger was arrogant..
      It is very usual to search people coming from south america, middle east and Africa differently cause they are source of many illegal activities

They are doing profiling, and they must be held to account for it. They are the cause of the issue. They're gaslighting this individual by singling him as well as other visible minority individuals for further inspection. While they just wave white passengers through.

      I absolutely understand that’s he’s upset because they surely pick on black people - I talking from experience. I was taken of the line in Geneva and asked to wait without any reason apart from looking different while they let everyone else proceed - I was held back for forty minutes over nothing. Why would this not make me see that I’m being treated differently.
      But must say that the way he dealt with his perceived mistreatment was definitely not diplomatic - he could have expressed himself much better, anger has got better of him, plus smell of alcohol. He gave the officer a good enough reason for him to be examined. I find this officer polite, professional and very reasonable.
      And what kind a diplomat makes everything even worse for everyone?

    The angry man, who kept yelling at the officers, claimed to be a former diplomat. That explains his bad attitude because diplomats are given certain privileges and that somehow also gives them an 'I am above the law' altitude. His bad behaviour certainly doesn't represent his country well.

      I believe Tim was dealt with unfairly. The fact that he had passed convictions and he was asked to declare them , were used against him in my opinion. He was charged and has served time for his convictions so that shouldn't be use to determine his fate! Obviously he has learnt from his passed mistakes and is showing determination to do better and be a better person! But denying him to work to make an honest living can push him one or two steps backwards. Why should he be seemingly retried for what he had already served? This doesn't seems fair to me!

      ​@@kingcecil7126 I got stopped at every check point on a return flight to and from Canada. Does that mean they were targeting me that trip? Sometimes it's your turn to get stopped. They will do every few people (5-10) randomly. And occasionally the same person will get stopped more than once. There is also the possibility that when they saw something suspicious on a scan of his bag, which required a search. His behaviour doesn't help, because it makes him look suspicious. Trying to intimidate people who are just doing their jobs makes them look harder at you as someone who might be doing something they shouldn't.

While "smiling" may be suspicious to you, being calm and compliant with people who are doing their jobs will get you through far fast than what that guy did.     I highly commend the officer who handled the situation with patience, wisdom, and intelligent talking.

      Yes, any conviction will notify Border Control u have a Record.
      The trouble with the courts, what Timothy did, might not get a conviction for a woman, someone white collar, Dr, Lawyer, Clergy, anyone in uniform, Judge,Politician.
      So why deny him a visa for something he did many yrs ago?
      The odds are against anyone blue collar. Yet thugs already in OZ are allowed to stay after a jail sentence, except Kiwis.

    I've been singled out severally at airports for a search. My travel documents are looked at longer than those before me. Many times the officer would seek help/attention from another officer or his supervisor. It's quite embarrassing going through these, but I have made my peace with being racially profiled, or whatever you call it.

    If the black guy did that in the US, he would have been denied entry and banned. Just saying. The level of animosity to someone who is doing their job is definitely worth cancelling the visa.
