I worked at a Salvation Army thrift store for a short time. Any stained or damaged clothing never made it to the floor. I’m very surprised to see a high price tags on those items.
Could you make a video of brands to look out for , for each category, for example, flannels, jeans and so on If you already have a video up could you link it for me please
Huge store! Good video 👍🏽 I would like to see those higher end items up close. Sucks they hang them up so high and out of reach from customers. I’m assuming because of possible theft.
Yes, this kind of large thrift store is really amazing. They sell tons of tshirts, toys, board games, brand clothes, shoes, leather handbags and many more. Just aware of some high prices that not worth to buy for resell. 😮🤑💯👍
Carhartt coats are not universally gold. I have one that I only wore in the coldest Milwaukee weather, usually too warm. After a few years in Florida I thought, why do I still have this? Good money... Oddly not so. Something about the model made it so I might as well pack it away and wait for a winter trip home.
Ben I love when you put out thrifting videos. This place was huge and it looks like you hardly put a dent in it. Looking forward to your next thrift trip, haul or whats sold. 152shopgirl
@@ReadySetResell I live in Mercedes tx deep down south of Texas and we go to these used clothes warehouses and you pay by the pound 30 cents to a 1.00 pound the better stuff is 1.50 for vintage a pound and newer clothes 2.00 dollars a pound I’m not gonna lie we do see a lot of clothes in condition like that bulls jacket and the Nike hoodie in your video but I have sold a used Patagonia with a small hole in the side and paid .50 cents for it and sold for 25.00 dollars and they loved it
*I found a Grateful Dead shirt at my thrift store for only $5.99. Some guy offered me $25 in the parking lot, kaching!! Fruit of the Loom made in USA label not the GD label.*
I understand buying them from a utility aspect. But that’s not what I was referring too. People in the vintage community are buying them as a fashion piece. Not because they do a good job and last a long time.
I wonder if this is the same Village Throft with two locations in Akron Ohio. The two tiered clothing racks with the handwritten prices on colored paper are exactly the same. Do you know if their cause is veterans?
6 bucks on an item that’ll sell the same day I put it up. Under 2 mins of work. Bread and butter items like that is what makes up the majority of sales. Find 25 items like this at a $6 profit it’s $150. Not to mention most business’ make under a 20% profit margin per item so a 50% one isn’t bad.
I was gonna say the same thing but I know everyone has a different business strategy. I've never seen anyone say $6 profit is good or bread and butter but again everyone is different.
@kgb4187 Ahahahahaha I literally quit my 16 year career to be a full-time Reseller 3 years ago. So I don't think your comment is very accurate especially because you don't know me LOL. The only difference is when I quit I paid off 90% of our bills with my 401k and 457b that I put into all those years and we've been in our house for over 20 years and it's paid off. Our monthly bills are less than 1k and my Wife makes more than that per week but that doesn't mean this is a Hobby to me nor do I treat it that way.
Keep the thifting videos coming, pal! Love how your videos give me ideas of what to hunt for myself!
Glad to hear it 👍
I am a reseller in the area. Village Discount, Family Thrift, Unique Thrift and Salvation Army own the city. Goodwill owns the suburbs. Cheers.
Exactly right

Prices was crazy at that thrift store. They have too much stuff for those high prices. But you found the needles in the haystack! Awesome
So glad I'm not the only one who leaves when they have had enough rather than have to check every single section
that carhart jacket is a score
I’ve learned soooo much from you!!! I do my quick clothes scans armed with the knowledge from your videos. Keep them coming!!
Hope you are finding some good stuff 💪
Two Big Mac's in one day 😮, how do you stay so slim 😂. Great store!

@@Wfwi right, it couldn't be any easier to type in a brand and style and filter to sold comps/check the sell through rate. a monkey could do it.
Dang Some of those prices are crazy especially for ripped & huge stains. Good thing you’re a professional.
I was hyped when I saw you had a new video out. Thanks!!
Great to see you Ben!
Love that chicago is going great for you! Take care!
Hope to run into you in the wild sometime! I havent been to this village discount yet, but excited to check it out in a few weeks
3:20 that’s a pain when the racks are tucked behind the other racks.
Wow, what an amazing thrift store!
Go Ben, looks like happy shopping ✌️❣️
thx for the thrifting content, ill be waiting for the next one

Wow! I'm surprised you didn't know PRPS. Look up the jeans. That's where the big money is in that brand.
I sold 2 pair of Osiris shoes last year. One for $60 and the other for $70. When I looked some models sell even higher.
Way to go Ben. Great video.
Thanks 👍
Good to see you Ben . Some of those shirts were overpriced but you picked some really good stuff ! See you next Tuesday on Kat's show !!!
Nice haul thanks for the video
I've always liked watching your thrift videos 😊
Noooo don’t tell about my BigMac 😂😂

Whoops - had to edit. Not all Carhartts are equal - but I don't know why. I really think that coat is the best I've ever had... but has no value.
This is an amazing place! I'd love to source here sometime. I hope you make more videos in here.
You're my fave! Keep it up!
Awesome video! That was fun!🎉
Wow prices were shocking. Lots to look at though. Thx
All that wonderful store needs is a great snack bar LoL
The Golden Age of thrifting is gone but there will be some employees that miss stuff!
It’s only going to get worse

You should do a short video on your cleaning process.
Ben, it's been a while we missed you.
Good to see you doing well, how are you liking Chicago?
That's what they say, racks on racks😉😎
I would say go back and check out the areas that you didn’t get to see there has to be some good pieces in there
I plan on going back for sure

@@FFFFFFFFFF493hell yes I sold it, instant money...then I learned later the guy sold it on Etsy for $195. Oops.
Thanks for sharing!
Those prices are a bit high on some of the items
how is it your always the only one at the thrift stores you visit
That last Pendleton looked like an old tag, no? I’ve found some like it and sold for around $60-$80
You can't understand why Carhartt popular?! Bro you can have a 80 year old Carhartt coat and it still do it's job for 80 more

village discount outlet is always going to be more overpriced than other stores - i never go there anymore
That bulls jacket should not be on that rack for sale.
I would've spent like 5 hours in that store lol
❤❤❤❤❤
Do they give a military discount Ben?
I don’t think so but I’ve never actually asked
$12.50 for a shirt?? After fees, you might make $6.00 bro lol

Not a good profit margin for someone like you who does it for a hobby, but more than acceptable for a full time seller.

benefit the algorithm and another sale always comes along 🤷🏼♀️
