    I haven't seen anybody who deserves this plane more than you do Juan. 😊

      haha, Thanks! I'm sure there are plenty of people more deserving, but I won't complain that I get to fly this one :-)

    Beautiful plane, I had the 103” Extra 300SC was an amazing flying plane. Unfortunately Chief aircraft were scammers and liars and made the buying process horrible. Had to call the owner of Pilot in China who was very helpful getting me the plane. Now I only buy planes from Andrew Jesky of AJ Aircraft.

      That’s too bad. Fortunately Harry and Nikki from Tailslide are the new PilotRC dealers and are great to deal with

      Haha, thanks! No lottery, but I’ve been very lucky and have started working with some great sponsors to showcase their products

    First Class kit. Never have owned a Pilot but your video has me very interested. Especially since they are available in the USA now through Tailslide Aviation instead of Chief RC. Great videos that you’re producing and very informative. Thx

    Nice unboxing and information. Could you elaborate more on the differences between a "Precision" plane vs a "Hybrid" vs an "Aggressive" plane? I have no idea what you mean by that and how that might guide me when deciding to purchase.

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  6 месяцев назад

      thanks! Yeah, when I talk about 'aggressive', I usually mean that has more aileron/tail authority. For example, an aggressive airframe will execute crankshafts or knife edge spins with greater turning speed, or rifle rolls are faster snappier. A precision plane like the Slick is a bit more stable and makes it easier to perfect IMAC style maneuvers (slow rolls, snap rolls, knife edge...) still can do these maneuvers perfectly fine, but it won't be as explosive as the more aggressive plane.

    Thank you for the details! Can I ask what you're doing for rudder servo(s) and linkage?

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  6 месяцев назад +1

      For rudder, I used a single Futaba HPS-AA701 on the tail, with push-pull linkage. You can see some clips of the setup in the build video: ruclips.net/video/ye8182i4_BU/видео.html

    I flew a 100" Carden Extra years Ago, traditionally Extras excelled at IMAC style aerobatics, there was no 3D back then. Now we have manufacturers expanding the surface area of control surfaces to accommodate modern trends of Extreme 3D, but I will always consider the Extra platform as an excellent traditional IMAC style plane, not a "hybrid" BTW I'm currently flying an EF Extra 104" and on normal rates flies wonderful pattern aerobatics. It's real bailiwick in my opinion.

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  6 месяцев назад +1

      Pretty much any EF or PilotRC will do really well with both pattern aerobatics and 3D/XA with the right setup. But different airframe designs have a bit of an edge with certain type of maneuvers. Also this looks different between different manufacturers (they modify the design from the full scale one quite a bit). For example, in EF the Slick is probably the most aggressive one, whereas the PilotRC Slick is probably the best one for pattern aerobatics, while the PilotRC Laser is the most aggressive one and best for XA.

      @@skyboundrc thanks, that knowledge comes from flying lots of different airframes. I'm not so much in the know with all the modern planes/manufacturers.

    Oh shit they really include a lot of nice hardware- spinner and servoclips very impressed wow - is your slick still alive ? 🇦🇹

    • @skyboundrc
      @skyboundrc  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, PilotRC has been stepping it up. The EF Slick is still alive and well, but I sold the airframe, as I'm transitioning my fleet to PilotRC :-)

      Nice ! i am very excited to hear your opinion on how they compare since it seems like the slick is the golden standard for 3D (at least to my knowledge haha) @@skyboundrc
