YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE MADMAN AND LEGEND FOR THIS ONE. "The Unseen" was the album that broke open not only the world of Madlib, but Dilla, DOOM, Stones Throw, and so many others in the world of real rap for me, and for that I can't be thankful enough. Really awesome to see the sources of these samples and how the man flipped them.
This is probably the best uses of sampling in hip hop ever. The way Madlib easily implements them into the album is so amazing. Like its almost like he knew what sounds he wanted to hear and crafted them together so perfectly. And the fact he made this while he was high is also just impressive and hilarious
6:13 Oh wow, never would've guessed those galloping sounds were just straight from the film's score and was actually just the sound of balls falling down.
God i love this album so much. its so unique, weird, cartoony, hilarious and otherworldly at times and the samples, beats, Madlib and Quas going back and fourth on verses, the dense sampling and quirky beats and the overall atmosphere and sound like straight from a looney tunes cartoon and i just dig it so much. its definitely one of my favorite albums of all time and ill never get tired of it. also that blame game melvin sample fits in so perfectly i swear it sounds like something from a cartoon Edit: This is my favorite album of all time. This album is timeless!
Man, all that backstage footage reminded me of how good we had it back in the 90s/early 2000s. Technology still worked to our benefit, people were chill and friendly, beats was good. Damn good times man. This video is awesome, keep it up.

@@HazeusThaDamaja Yeah I was young too, one of my biggest regrets is not being old enough to have lived those times. Now that we’re young adults and supposed to be having fun and living the prime of our lives we have a stupid pandemic and hatred-filled social media, preventing people from loving each other. It sucks. I hope we’re still young to enjoy yourselves when all of this is over. Sending out much love to you.

Ya Mama tricked by the pound to buy that ounce! RIP Melvin P. This is one of the most bizarre, dope, odd, beautiful, innovative, and most rebellious Hip-Hop/Rap album of all time. Shoutout to Peanut Butter Wolf for pushing Madlib to release it because he had no intention of releasing it to the public and is well known Madlib has tons of completed albums he has created for his own personal use. I remember him doing a interview where he spoke on a Beat Konducta tape he created using Prince music. I can only imagine how dope that is considering how productive and talented Prince was and to have Madlib put his own spin on it.

dmaster5556 and that weird sound I thought was a bowling ball knocking over pins
I wish I could do mushrooms or acid to this joint
i thought those sounds were a separate sample
dmaster5556 lol i tweeted that video @flying lotus bc of black balloon reprise and it got 1k likes
i always pictured it as a skateboard rolling over an uneven footpath haha
Bro 14 samples in The Return of the Loop Digga, that is just amazing
