One of the biggest crash by the time happened nov. 1 , 1946. An AMIOT AAC.1 Junker 52 serie # AAC284, flying from Paris to Casablanca with a refueling stop in Toulouse (fra). The airliner flew into the side of a hill en route to Toulouse and Casablanca. Reportedly the aircraft was descending out of icing conditions. crash Location : St Légér-La-Montagne. RIP Captain Théo MATHURIN, his crew & all passengers.
Boy they're sure aren't pushing the old girl very hard judging by the way she took off. I don't blame them a bit and they still have passengers in there! That's the slowest take off I've ever seen with passengers aboard!
The original Luftwaffe 1 (That 30's -40's guy who mandated the VW). Looks like a tuff t/o and landing was chronic. Too bad . . . Plus, no match for the Goonie-Bird, my first ride. (C-47). BTW, worked (design) the orig. B747-100, precursor to AF-1 in '66. Also worked B2707 (SST design) which woulda, coulda, shoulda . . .
