Around, Go The Other Way & Freeze

These are a couple of my favorite Helps when commands have been compromised, a young dog is rough and disrespectful and the human is ready to transition to working their dog off lead.
Each one takes about 10 to 30 minutes depending on the dog's compliance and harder yet, the human's willingness to learn to use new commands and make the necessary changes.
This truly is Manners In Minutes. With clear communication, the dog can learn a new skill or concept in 3 successful repetitions. BUT true success depends on the humans in the dog's life practicing & making the new skill and concept "normal & useful;"
Once the humans have consistently reinforced the connection & application of the new command, skill and concept for at least a month; it will be a dependable and useful new control that you will be able to use in multiple situations.
This should be taught by an adult and if appropriate, with support & supervision of a responsible adult, transition the control of the dog to a capable child.
