  • Severn Valley Railway's premier enthusiast event of the year has come round once again and for this year's gala the weather couldn't of been better and with temperatures in the low 20's it brought everybody out !
The three star engine's were 34092 'City Of Wells' courtesy of the East Lancs Railway and it's fellow Southerner 'Q' Class No 30541 visiting from the Bluebell Railway and B.R Standard 4, 76017 making the trip up from the Mid Hants Railway ! All engines featured on the Friday but unfortunately the Q class was declared failed on Saturday night and was withdrawn from the gala !
The homefleet were in attendance but only four of the locos feature and they were B.R 75069, GWR 6960 'Raveningham Hall' which is on a long term loan from the WSR and 34027 'Taw Valley' which provided the best clag of the weekend ! Also another long term loan loco which is now part of the homefleet which featured was GWR 4144 which is originally based at Didcot Railway Centre.
So another five star gala from the Severn Valley Railway ! I hope you enjoy !

Once again great team work from you & Phil absolute hellfire from Taw Valley with that exhaust as 34027 accelerated away from Bewdley & the fine fettle run of Eardington bank from the Volcano in 34092 City of Wells. Richard

Lovely shot of 75069 in the evening sun. 34092 leaving Bewdley looked terrific as well. Looking very nice on Eardington Bank as well.

Visiting on the Saturday and Sunday, getting all the locos, except the Q class as it broke down 😢. But still had a great day and I think the video depicts of how great the weekend was, great vid

Very much enjoyed, thanks Liam and Phil. A wonderful selection of cleverly chosen locations, giving just the right lighting and showing the locos to best effect with the scenery - a superb example of that at 17:55. Your filming also makes the goods train something special. Kind regards, Bob.

Very enjoyable video Liam with some lovely clips, good variety and great weather too! Taw Valley put up a great smoke screen and loved the clips of City of Wells really digging in on the bank. Does it have a Giesl ejector fitted? The chimney sits just above the streamlined casing and the exhaust is pretty sharp, much more so than an unrebuilt version. Thanks, your vid makes for great viewing particularly on the 55" wide screen! Cheers mate.

A truly lovely video without irritating 'music'. Steam on jointed track is best. Wonderful.

I too was at this Gala making a token gesture at filming. The quality of your work makes me want to flog all the kit on Fleabay and give up.
