"Kalinka" (Russian: Калинка) is a Russian song written in 1860 by the composer and folklorist Ivan Larionov and first performed in Saratov as part of a theatrical entertainment that he had composed. Soon it was added to the repertory of a folk choral group.
Калинка (Kalinka)
Voice: Margarita Zorbala
Калинка, калинка, калинка моя!
В саду ягода малинка, малинка моя!
Ах, под сосною, под зеленою,
Спать положите вы меня!
Ай-люли, люли, ай-люли,
Спать положите вы меня.
Калинка, калинка, калинка моя!
В саду ягода малинка, малинка моя!
Ах, сосенушка ты зеленая,
Не шуми же надо мной!
Ай-люли, люли, ай-люли,
Не шуми же надо мной!
Калинка, калинка, калинка моя!
В саду ягода малинка, малинка моя!
Ах, красавица, душа-девица,
Полюби же ты меня!
Ай-люли, люли, ай-люли,
Полюби же ты меня!
Калинка, калинка, калинка моя!
В саду ягода малинка, малинка моя!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little snowberry, snowberry of mine!
Little raspberry in the garden, my little!
Ah, under the pine, the green one,
Lay me down to sleep,
Ah, my love,
Lay me down to sleep.
Little snowberry, snowberry of mine!
Little raspberry in the garden, my little!
Ah, little pine, little green one,
Don't rustle above me,
Ah, my love,
Don't rustle above me.
Little snowberry, snowberry of mine!
Little raspberry in the garden, my little!
Ah, you beauty, pretty maiden,
Fall in love with me,
Ah, my love,
Fall in love with me.
Little snowberry, snowberry of mine!
Όταν βλέπω αυτό το βίντεο, υπάρχει ένα τεράστιο χαμόγελο στο πρόσωπο μου,που μόλις τελειώνει το τραγούδι το αντιλαμβάνομαι ! Αγαπημένη Μαργαρίτα Ζορμπαλά.
Πολύ ωραία ερμηνεία, οι καλες εποχές της εκπομπής και για όσο καιρό ήταν στην ερτ, άλλη ποιότητα!!!
ΥΠΕΡΟΧΗ ΟΠΩΣ ΠΑΝΤΑ Η ΜΑΡΓΑΡΙΤΑ, ΠΟΣΟ ΜΑΣ ΛΕΙΠΕΙ ΑΠ ΤΟ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΤΡΑΓΟΥΔΙ!!!
"Καλίνκα, Καλίνκα μου εσύ,
έι βατόμουρο του κήπου,
κοπέλλα χρυσή!"
Υπέροχο παλιό βινύλιο τα "12 Ρούσικα Τραγούδια" όπου η έφηβη ακόμη Ζορμπαλά το τραγουδούσε και αυτό, στην ελληνική μετάφραση του Ρίτσου. Δεν την είχα ξανακούσει να το λέει στα πρωτότυπα ρωσσικά. Τέλειο!
Mια εξαιρετικη ερμηνευτρια κα καλλιτεχνιδα. Υπεροχη παρουσια και με ζεστη φωνη.
Μοναδικη!!!!!!
Εκτός από τρομερή τραγουδιστική ερμηνεία, έχει τόση γλυκιά θεατρικότητα στις κινήσεις και τις εκφράσεις της που εκνευρίζομαι κάθε φορά που ο σκηνοθέτης αλλάζει πλάνο για να δείξει το κοινό! Σπάνιο και ταλαντούχο πλάσμα.
i'm russian and i can say that she sings brilliantly!!! if i didn't know that she is greek i would never ever think that russian language is not native for her! bravo!
hanasita Greeks usually dont have much of a problem with Slavic languages its Germanic languages that are hard for us.
Generally, greeks don't have such a problem in saying sounds that don't exist in greek
For example, the letters ж, ш and щ
Ι think that she comes from Russia, she was one of the Greek immigrants of Black sea
She is of Greek ethnicity (and lives in Greece since 18 or so), but comes from Greeks that had emigrated to Russia at some point...
She was born in Tashkent and then she lived in Moscow till she was 17 years old. She is a brilliant singer.
Θεά, κ την ακούω πρωτη φορά. Άψογη.
Classic hockey song here in Canada ever since USSR came to play in the old days. I love that song! =D
Margarita, along with her brother Demetris enjoyed a happy childhood in Russia where their parents ensured that the Greek language and Greek History remained an integral part of their upbringing. As a teenager, Margarita already knew and sung the songs of Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis which, together with the other Greek children, would sing regularly at the Greek Club of Moscow. She was just 9 when she first met Mikis Theodorakis, a family friend who went to Moscow to visit the family.
here is the answer --->
Margarita Zorbala was born in Taskendi (former Soviet Union). Her parents were Greek Political Refugees. When she was still only 2 years of age, her family and Margarita moved to Moscow. !
kALINKA BEATIFUL INTERPRETATION! LONG LIVE USSR
She later performed in two Theatrical Performances - Wild Honey by Michael Frein which was based on Platonov by Anton Tchiekov and Crime and Punishment by Dostoyefski, as well as appearing in the Television Serial Yellow Envelope based on the novel by Michalis Karagatsis. Since 1993 Margarita Zorbala has lived in Cyprus on a permanent basis and continues to record her work and do live concerts whenever she feels the need to come to close contact with the public.
Her mother also sang in a few of the songs from this album. Her discography is enriched by works with Hadjidakis, Kelaidonis, Savopoulos, Papadopoulos, Antreas Vollenweider and many others. Whilst still in Russia, Margarita's studies also included learning the accordion at a music school. Her great love for the performing arts and the theatre was the reason she took entry examinations to the National Theatre School of Greece which she successfully passed and attended on a scholarship.
During October 2000, Zorbala has worked with Dalaras in a series of concerts with the Kremlin Presidential Orchestra. This was a set-off in her future cooperation and relationship with other great orchestras. Her performances with probably the best orchestra of traditional instruments, the "OSSIPOV Ballalaika orchestra" were a great success both in Cyprus and Moscow in 2000-2001. Five concerts took place in four large amphetheaters all over Cyprus with ten thousand spectators overall.
Σιγλονιστικη ερμηνεύτρια ! Επίσης απσογα ερμηνεύει " ΟΙ ΓΕΡΑΝΟΙ"
Ευχαριστούμε πολύ!
Super
Margarita Zorbala was born in Taskendi (former Soviet Union). Her parents were Greek Political Refugees. When she was still only 2 years of age, her family and Margarita moved to Moscow. Her Father, Stavros, was a Sociologist/Writer of quite important social standing and with quite an extensive number of printed works to his credit. Her mother, Katerina was also with artistic flare - an actress and singer which in parallel taught Greek Philology at the Lomonosof University in Moscow.
On completing her studies she returned to Greece with her family permanently. In the years that followed, she recorded another 5 albums with Theodorakis and for 2 years she accompanied him in all the concerts performed in and outside of Greece (Europe, America, Canada). She had the good fortune to work with the renowned Poet Yiannis Ritsos on the album 12 Russian Folk Songs upon which the poet had translated the lyrics into the Russian language.
με πολι καλη ρωσικη προφορα!μπραβο!
This meeting proved to be the beginning of her destiny as a singer as at 17 years old, Margarita Zorbala went to Greece after having been invited by Theodorakis to perform on one of his most important works - Ballads to the poetry of Manolis Anagnostakis. After the recording of the album which was predicted to be a great success, she returned to Moscow to finish her studies in Spanis Philology which she had already commenced at the University of Lomonosof.
Rita was born and raised in the old USSR as a political refugee from the Civil War, She's therefore bilingual.
Υπέροχη εκτέλεση. Συγχαρητήρια.
Thanks for clearing this out my friend, I was always puzzled about how it could sound to people who have russian as their native language. Of course I must add here that she spend most of her childhood and teens in Russia as her parents were political refugees.
Εκπληκτική
Η Ζορμπαλά δεν ζει πια στην Ελλάδα.. ζει από το 1993(νομίζω) στην Κύπρο. Παντρεύτηκε εκεί και δεν ασχολείται ιδιαίτερα πια με το τραγούδι(αν δεν κάνω λάθος)... Απ'ότι ξέρω κάνει κάποιες συναυλίες που και που στο νησί!!!!
LMG, MOUNTED AND LOADED!!! TIME TO GET SERIOUS!!!
Она сохранила хороший русский язык
@hanasita She was born in Taskend and when she was two she moved with her family in Moscow.
She met Miki Theodoraki at the age of nine and he invited her to Greece at the age o seventeen.
ΚΑΛΟ ΠΑΡΑΔΕΙΣΟ ΡΩΣΙΔΑ ΜΗΤΕΡΑ.
To tell the truth, I am not on friendly terms with English and I print on the translator. I think, it will approach.
Indeed it is, if you take a look at your right (more info) you can see it described as a traditional russian song and furthermore she's singing it in Russian.
@hanasita russian was native language for her a bit more than greek :) when she came back she had a slight accent
Καλό θα ήταν να άλλαζες την περιγραφή γιατί δεν είναι παραδοσιακό το τραγούδι. Φολκλορικό είναι που γράφτηκε to 1860 από τον φολκλοριστ Ivan Petrovich Larionov.
Just a question, who is singing ? She's great.
hello my friend and thank you for clearing this out, unfortunately I don't know russian so I used a translation I found on the net. Would it be better to translate it as "my love"?
The author rock-a-baby it not that word! "Ljuli-Ljuli"("Люли-Люли") it is a compliment, the word arises from a slavic deity of Lelja(Леля) of the goddess of beauty, love. So that it compliment. And you here rock-a-baby insert into a refrain.
Ime erotevmenos
~Καλινκα~
now lives in Cyprus...
kavla kai to tragoudi kai i zorbala ...
I've just added some extra info that I found in the web and an english translation. You're not wrong in your assumption by the way. :-)
Το αυθεντικό δεν μου αρέσει. Η εκδοχή της Ζορμπαλά είναι η καλύτερη.
