The Countess of Sandwich is brilliant !!! What an amazing memory. She is such a font of knowledge. I'd volunteer to dust or vacuum if she'd just sit in the room and talk. I could listen to her all day! What a wonderful mother in law you have 💖

I hope this doesn’t come across wrong Sharene, but “awe” with an “e” is used when looking at something with wonderment. “Aw” is used to express mild disappointment, gentle entreaty, or real or mock sympathy or sentiment.

Gorgeous video!!! I have a mirror and 2 sconces and a desk which came out of my family's colonial Manor house on Long Island New York. I have several items but not the house. My home was built in 1971 but the contents are old and it's decorated in Manor house style. I absolutely love your videos, what you do to save our shared heritage means so very much to people like me. Deeply grateful for the work that your family does! It's our British heritage! Much love.

Hy Julie, I have seen most of your videos all quite interesting to watch and each one very well described by yourself. This one, "to not escape the rule" (as we say over here in such special cases), is beautifully shown and described by your lovely mother-in-law. This is the third time I watch this video (I did twice before the one you showed alone this wonderful bedroom). You know, what I most appreciate in this bedroom, besides the gorgeous ceiling (XVI/XVII centuries I believe), also the unique Persion rugs and all precious pieces of furniture, are the great paintings on the walls (I have quite some in my home, a few painted by a cousin of mine, he was a renown painter and sold many paintings to the U.S. - he even painted me when I was about seven or eight years old - others bought and a few painted by my husband who used to paint, something I also did for many years, most of mine shown in some Exibitions) and OF COURSE... last but not least... that extraordinary Chest-on-chest or Tall-boy of which I was agreably surprised when I saw it because I have one exactly, english naturally bought in an Antique shop many decades ago, in my bedroom only mine is a taller, it's about the hight of your father-in-law, I noted this detail when in one of these videos he was next to it explaining something to you.
Julie, if I was a bit younger and felt better of health I would fly to England especially to meet you personally and visit your wonderful Castle, but also to see again wonderful american friends of mine with three children I left there - one of these was a darling couple, the husband was an american film producer - unfortunately his wife is not with us anymore.
Julie, excuse the long coment but I have been to do this for many months now. Keep with all the immense and useful work you to benifit Mapperton Mansion and I wish all the best to you and your adorable familly.

No ! I think this is what makes this show quite unique ( but only recently tumbled upon it ). It is tempting to think that the US Aristocrat is not listening to her English Kin, but I believe this not to be the case. Also, I think its wonderful that questions and answers are sent to and fro, throughout the world, live and from `regular / ordinary ` fellows.

Take a look back after WWII and see what people just like this family had to do and the sacrifices they made to keep these historic homes going.
