Thank you so much for sharing the more private (and beautiful) parts of your amazing home. Netflix had a British show, Weekend Aristocrats (no longer available in the States...darn it) which showed several families who live in such homes. i'm just wondering why Julie closes curtains in rooms that aren't being used... LOL. I'd be like, "Nope...no one staying in there, let them stay closed [to prevent sun damage]..." Tee hee...
They close them every evening because that is when the heating is on and the curtains act as a form of insulation on the old windows to help keep the heat in. They open them every day because the sunlight adds warmth to the rooms during the day to help keep away damp and it also purifies the air to a small extent for things like dust mites and stuff.
It’s like a treasure map, watching you walk thru the house and seeing all these wonderful rooms, secret doors, side hallways....you never know what you are going to find. Julie, I really enjoyed the tour of the bedrooms. I would love to come to one of the yoga retreats one day.
