Hey... I've known this guy for years (and even directed him): he's the real deal. And great to see Brian Lowdermilk at the piano! Great to see this video!
I have followed this man since he starred in Evita....He has the most beautiful voice in the world! He could easily be an opera singer! Love to you Josh and your family! Long may you run! I will always pay to see you sing! When he sings I feel the presence of God.....
BruceWhan~Haha, yes he's quite the "bear" and that's always a good thing IMO! I got to this thru looking for Madonna's work in the movie version. Once I saw the pic, I knew I had to check it out, I had no idea they'd done a version with Eva as a man. Do we know if this was done as some sort of "gay version", where "Eva" is a man and has an affair at least with Colonel/president Peron? Not sure how they approach the rest of the story... I guess go all the way, have them marry and do the whole play/movie? Regardless, Josh has a very nice voice, seems to really feel the lyrics and the piano player was noticeably excellent!
I just caught it, he played "a mistress" not Eva or whatever the male version of her would be named. Still though curious, if he was a "mistress" of Juan's, how did they do rest of the story? As would make sense, in this "reality" of it, with a man playing "Eva" etc...
woah , that pianist was rocking it. how tf did he memorize all of that ? josh youngs voice always makes me happy. I kinda wish the person filming didn't zoom so close into his face. omg, poor josh probably watched this and was like " crap, that would be my bad side if my face wasn't perfectly symmetrical. thank god im blessed"
I don't expect my love affairs to last for long Never fool myself that my dreams will come true Being used to trouble I anticipate it But all the same I hate it, wouldn't you? So what happens now? (Another suitcase in another hall) So what happens now? (Take your picture off another wall) Where am I going to? (You'll get by, you always have before) Where am I going to? Time and time again I've said that I don't care That I'm immune to gloom, that I'm hard through and through But every time it matters all my words desert me So anyone can hurt me and they do So what happens now? (Another suitcase in another hall) So what happens now? (Take your picture off another wall) Where am I going to? (You'll get by, you always have before) Where am I going to? Call in three months time and I'll be fine, I know Well, maybe not that fine, but I'll survive anyhow I won't recall the names and places of each sad occasion But that's no consolation here and now So what happens now? (Don't ask anymore) Songwriters: Tim Rice / Andrew Lloyd Webber
No he didn't ! It was perfect....He took very little liberties with the melody. It was mainly on his vocal runs and no one has ever sung the song this brilliantly. You are just not used to hearing the definitive version.
I would have to agree with Jim M, although he has an amazing voice, this type of song needs to stay true to the original to be appreciated. Beautiful but missed the mark from the original.. Maybe it's a combination of the solo piano and male voice that makes it so far from the original.
Agreed. It needs a sad introspection with a touch naïveté....she's a girl who has been sleeping with a man old enough to be her father. She's seen a lot and probably doesn't understand a lot of it. She is what Eva could have been and that's an important theatrical point. The song must be treated like a folk song, I think, almost Dolly Parton meets Natalie Maines.
+import26 Seriously? That's your comment? Not that you care, but I'm pretty sure that he had one leg in a cast after injuring it during a performance of Amazing Grace.
+kensdad44 How was he able to injury himself by performing Amazing Grace? Did he dance to it? That song is probably the slowest song ever been written in the history of music.
It's a beautiful rendition. They're both perfect
He could sing anything. The power is astounding . Love to see you again Josh!
Hey... I've known this guy for years (and even directed him): he's the real deal. And great to see Brian Lowdermilk at the piano! Great to see this video!
I just this minute discovered him (life in the hinterlands!). And already know I could listen to him forever. ❤❤❤.

do you have his social media accounts? I would like to follow him but i can't find him
The pianist is magnificent, I will say that much
agreed!
He has to be my MOST FAVOURITE Broadway male performer and has a special place in my heart FOREVER! ❤️🌹😄👏🏽🙏🏽😍
a wonderful rendition from the male perspective... I have felt that way many times....beautiful voice and pianist as well.. BRAVO!
I am SO much Loving this talented beautiful man..........
Josh Young! I can't even how good he is.
This is an exceptional rendition. The emotion of the singer and pianist is a thing of beauty
I keep coming back to this video. It’s just so well done. Excellent voice and excellent piano.
Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Lovely version of a classic song ...
I saw him in Evita & he was so wonderful 💕
What was he playin' in Evita ?! the mistress ?
Power 😂😂😂 yup .he was a great mistress! 👌🏼👏🏼

He played Che. This was just an isolated performance. He wasn't reprising his performance from Evita.
So much emotion! I lived loved seeing him in Evita and at Feinstein's.
I officially love him!!!!!!! The emotion was so there
OMG. Just breaks my heart. But I could listen to him break my heart till my last breath.
Thar was bloody brilliantl!
Sweet! Thanks for breathing new life into a great song.
I would love this arrangement somehow 😍😍😍😍
This song perfectly captures a gay man's sentiments about unsuccessful love affairs, though in the show it is Person's mistress who sings it.
Yes it does.
@T B literally every song is about straight people. No one is "erasing" you.
So beautiful
His hips don't lie!!!
Ah those eyes yes... Very Godlike >w
Wow amazing
Outstanding!
Com lágrimas nos olhos! Que bela interpretação!
Lo mismo pienso, le da una interpretación extraordinaria

Back for my monthly viewing
Nice arrangement and interpretation. Pretty epic piano playing too.
Bello bello bello¡¡ cuando los talentos se encuentran maravilloso josh te amo
Esta voz es increíble, tan emocional, tan directa al corazón ❣
Also, brilliant was Brian Lowdermilk ! Wow! perfect accompaniment for Josh....Go Brian!
loved it!
He needs to do nine. The obc is so wonderful except for Raul Julia. Imagine it with this guy singing and original tommy tune staging.
Sublime
Still waiting to find how to get sheet music to this arrangement!

God, you're good!
This man thicc and talented.
Marry me
Barbara Dickson's version of this song is a classic ...
Nice voice. Hands in pockets in every video I've seen. ??
Hey, Dylan! Where's Eric at?
RebDOMINE ! Kkkk
Ele é o Dylan?
try to sing it yourself without getting a little choked up.......well done........
about the only thing that could make this better is if he had two women singing on the chorus with him
All the other kids
Very powerful singer, but idk about this interpretation tbh
While this guy has an incredible voice I believe he took a little too many liberties with the melody. Good though.

DephaniaKilljoy just type Josh young and his killer face will show
different josh young
He is Josh Groban of Broadway.
josh groban is the josh groban of broadway
I like Barbara Dixon better
I love his talent and his voice, but to my taste I don't like his interpretation of the song.
how sad for you.....to not be able to see and hear beauty.
@@randwilliams7574 What a shame of you not to allow me, to express my personal feelings.
@@heibelmichael4034 Your world is small.
@@randwilliams7574
Are you so frustrated and bitter that you insult strangers?
Stay as you are, it suits you.
I personally love this version but it is quite different from the original in places so I get why people don't really like it
wtf he used to be hotter 😂😂
So fucking godlike it’s the beard, awful.
haha people age....
MADONNA DOES IT BETTER
sang the song but it was lacking. good voice though just to me did not have IT
george hare He has no emotional connection to the song
It needed backup singers.
The song doesn't need back up singers. The guy just has no emotion to it. It is pretty much blank on his end. It is an emotional song.
Agreed. It needs a sad introspection with a touch naïveté....she's a girl who has been sleeping with a man old enough to be her father. She's seen a lot and probably doesn't understand a lot of it. He had lost so much weight; sad to see he is not health focused that much anymore.
+import26 Seriously? That's your comment? Not that you care, but I'm pretty sure that he had one leg in a cast after injuring it during a performance of Amazing Grace.
+kensdad44 ok
+kensdad44 How was he able to injury himself by performing Amazing Grace? Did he dance to it? That song is probably the slowest song ever been written in the history of music.
bigsquare88 Not the song, "Amazing Grace." He slipped and tore a tendon in his leg during a performance of "Amazing Grace" the Broadway musical.
@bigsquare88 hahah lol i love the comment though
Ridiculous version by a male singer. The whole point is that it is the perspective of discarded female mistress. Ludicrous
Fantastic!
