Haven’t paid attention to this account in 2 years but I do see there are plenty of people who want this. So I can update this video with something that works
With the Octoprint software (used in this video but not the focus of the video) you can. There are other way better tutorials on how to install and use that in RUclips.
Sorry, yea the comments below made me realize that people are confused by what I'm trying to do in this video unless they are experienced with electronics. I think I will redo this tutorial with a step by step beginner friendly tutorial. In short, answer to your question is yes. You must first know what octoprint is, install it and use it, then install octopi on octoprint then you can continue with this tutorial. Sorry if that is confusing but like I said, comments are making me realize this tutorial is not friendly to someone with no introduction to octoprint.
@@MexiPunto gotcha. Yes it uses raspberry pi with octoprint. Wasn't aware you could use octoprint with other things. But yes, at least for this tutorial it uses raspberry pi.
@@lesterdelacruz5088 I tried both (running an iphone xr on ios 14.6) and take_snapshot works while 'Photo' (or 'photo') does not. Only reason I ask is because the 'test' function seems to indicate that octolapse is talking to my iphone camera and takes snaps, and octolapse appears to connect to the printer via usb as well. But when I start a print with network camera snap running, octolapse connected, and the settings matching your video here, it doesn't take any snapshots. The printer just runs through its usual print and never waits for the camera or goes to its 'left center' position for the timelapse. Any ideas?
@@elysianfields84 yea I would try a standard Raspberry Pi camera first that is the original intended use for o to lapse. To eliminate the possibility that’s an octolapse config. I say this because the waiting is controlled by octolapse not the app. So if it’s not doing that eliminate the phone first and see if you still get the same.
@@lesterdelacruz5088 I wanna mention that I’ve installed octoprint & octolapse on my pc, but I’ve never done anything with the firmware on the ender 3. Could that be the problem? Also I don’t have a raspberry pi- I was trying to get around fooling with one. But if I must, which model should I get?
Example? He told you everything you needed to know. Put app on phone. Enter address listed on phone screen when you open the app into Octolapse. Adjust the settings he pointed out. Print your part(s). When job complete, download zip from Octolapse. Make your video. A fantastic solution! If you don't understand something, don't mock, just ask.
Any alternative for android? I already use the iphone one, works great, but I need for android too
Hello, I'm trying to download the app, but it says it's not available in my country, I'm in Canada, and I can't find any information about the app.
hi there! are there any ios app alternatives for 2024?

@@lesterdelacruz5088that would be wonderful and much appreciated!
@@lesterdelacruz5088 please update it
I couldn't get this to work. The test snapshot seems to work in the configuration, but always fails when attempting to print from cura.
Me too. Now I can't even download the app from the app store. Guess I'll have to do the jimmyrig setup like others have on their printers.
can I use this to view my print status as well or does it only take pics

do you need a razzberry pi connected to your printer
yes
You can change "take_snapshot" for "Photo" and it works
oh right. Sorry. I updated that. I didn't update the video. Yes, it is now photo.
Thank you for the video

Same as him, Network Camera Snapshot
@@Print_Works mine does not work it says camera test failed what did i do wrong
@@landohanysz8314 make sure you have the IP typed properly. You should also check that the phone and pi are on the same Wi-Fi.
