@@abram730 Perry DID NOT admit that "no gun was pointed at him", that was other testimony heard from a "witness" at the scene. Also, Garrett wasn't innocently "just pushing his girlfriend in her wheelchair". Multiple times throughout the day to numerous other drivers, the wheelchair was intentionally pushed in front of vehicles to get them to stop, followed by a mass of protestors swarming the various cars and harassing and/or chasing the driver. The messages used in court were ALL sent months before the incident and every single one of them implied a reaction to an action. I.E. "if they get in front of my car and stop me, I am going to do X", or to put it in more simple terms, he stated to the effect of "if I'm being harassed, assaulted, or I feel threatened, I will use the force necessary to defend myself." Stating that you would defend yourself if you were involved in a certain situation before a similar situation actually occurs in real life, in no circumstance denies your right to self defense. The problem came to him, he didn't actively seek it and that was proven in court by his cell phone data. He never once said that he would go around aimlessly looking for protestors and murder them without cause. Every message he sent started with an "if". Meaning, if this happens I will do X. They did not start with an "I am going to" or anything even close to imply that he was going to actively assault protestors without justification. To touch up on the fact that Foster didn't "raise his rifle", images from multiple angles, as well as video of the altercation would prove otherwise. Lastly, self defense cases are supposed to be viewed from the moment in time the event occurs. Nothing else is supposed to be considered that is outside of the scope, unless it shows DIRECT intent. Those messages are not direct intent. This is why the judge would not let the video of foster saying he was carrying his gun to "intimidate the pus**** that disagreed with him.
I never liked for anyone to lose their life, but Perry had the right to defend himself from a perceived threat onto his own life. Garrett Foster was armed with an AK-47 and approached a vechile that a mob was unlawfully trying to gain access. The barrel of the AK-47 pointing towards Perry, Foster entered an aggressive stance, giving Perry the right to defend himself. It was Garrett that created a quick draw situation that cost himself his own life. This is why I tell many to take a Carry and Conceal course. To learn the Does and Don'ts, State and Federal laws to be a responsible firearm owner. In my State, due to the Greensboro Massacre, we can not be armed at a protest. Each State has their laws, but many reinforce the private citizen the right to defend themself from a perceived aggressor.

In our legal system a jury decided the facts of a case and to have 12 people agree beyond a reasonable doubt is very hard. To overturn a case simply because you believe in a different set of facts makes a mockery of the rule of law especially when it’s politically motivated. There’s also an appeals process to review if some evidence was wrongly included or excluded by the trial judge. There a freighting trend of people wanting to throw out the legal system, for some people, just because they disagree with a jury on the facts yet they remain unwilling to even consider that other people face injustice in the legal system. It’s rule of law for thee but not for me.
You are really wrong! Time and time again in this Country, if you are a Conservative your rights are violated; and if you are a radical leftist, then you are free to break the law, hurt innocent people, and kill innocent people without consequences!! If you think are Justice system is currently fair, THEN YOU AREN’T PAYING ATTENTION!!!
Using the pardoning system IS the rule of law. It’s a part of the “on the books” legal process. We elect people who we think we can trust with utilizing such a rare power in the rare instances that warrant a correction of legal injustice (it’s been used to pardon blacks clearly convicted by a jury who were clearly biased and not exactly peers). It’s a good bit easily abusable part of the legal process. If it’s used rarely, it’s being used well. Used often, then your motives deserve further scrutiny. Otherwise it usually boils down to a mix of cultural relevance of the case, and how apparent the error in justice is. Democrats pardon people same as Republicans. I fail to understand where the “not for me” comes from with that in mind.
@@jonathanbenavidez201 I’ve never heard of a pardon process starting right after someone is found guilty. If someone gave a million dollars for a pardon it would still be a part of the “on the books” legal process. The rule of law is an ideal. No, because this potential pardon is motivated by anti-BLM animus
@@andrewduff2048 Pardoning “so soon” is irrelevant. Some have been soon after a conviction, some years later. What’s the correct “minimum amount of time to serve a wrongful conviction, and who should decide that? 2 week, 2 months? 2 years? You haven’t explained why this factor is relevant. You’re just saying it feels irregular, but without any idea of if it even was. As for bribes somehow invalidating this (pardoning) part of the rule of law, it’s not an argument of anything, because, seeing as lawyers, judges, and jurors can all be “bought,” it makes this complaint applicable to everything, making it useless. If your only other critique boils down to hypothetical whataboutism, regarding what scenarios he would or wouldn’t help with…then this is a complaint about a situation that doesn’t exist and you couldn’t possibly know or prove enough to matter. Inversely, with what the more Republican media paints as “woke DAs” in cities that had BLM riots, I CAN illustrate differences in charging guilty (proven guilty by those very courts) being released immediately, or given uncharacteristically light sentences for violent crimes or releasing them with little to no punishment. Yes. Uneven application of law is bad. But one case making you wonder if it would happen differently with XYZ, isn’t enough to criticize. Plus, we are already going from “we are throwing out the legal system…” as you’d stated, now down to a meager, “With no evidence for now, I assume it wouldn’t be the same for a pro-life riot though!” There isn’t enough here for you to actually have this size a reaction to. It’s not proportionate based on the things you say is wrong with it. What else makes you passionately opposed to this, since the things you’ve described don’t really account for it on their own.

It's not self defense when you plow your car into a huge crowd of people... Cops knew about the victim in advance... "AntiFa / BLM rioter Garrett Foster final interview" on RUclips, when asked about why he was carrying his AK, he said, "if I use it against the cops, I'm dead"... and supposedly his FB page had some content that was critical of police. The defendant literally predicted that protestors would surround his car, and he'd have to shoot them... Well, why did they surround his car? Because he plowed into them...

If everything about this case was the same except it was a pro-life protest instead of a BLM protest would the Gov be talking about a pardon?
It's not hard to get 12 people to decide beyond a reasonable doubt. It happens everyday in cases that are right and cases that are wrong. This kid pointed a weapon at the back of his head while other people were trying to break into his car, he was also screaming at him. This was a setup case by the activist judge and DA. The fact that you don't know that tells me your opinion is just that opinion. Your mind has been corrupted by media. You'd agree with anything the TV says at this point. Wake up.
There’s texts indicating this was a premeditated homicide, that speaks for itself.

I watched the mob turn on his car and bash it. I watched foster run up and point his AK. I watched the protestors block the road and declare ownership of the streets.
What youre asking me to do is "dont believe my lying eyes"
The most mild thing occurring that night was blocking road access. Thats not within your right to protest. That quickly escalated into bashing a car and brandishing to commit a kidnapping to punish some driver for not obeying the mobs authority of owning the streets. Allowing it to continue would have resulted in a mob assault if Foster was allowed to pull a man from his car and abduct him at gun point. In a power vacuum since the police had stand down orders for the nights of violence.
You also accidentally admitted the mob was there to "pull him out" you want carte blanche to commit a kidnapping as part of your right to express yourself. Next youre going to say you being "triggered without a trigger warning" is instigating and you cant instigate a self defense situation.
