After watching RUclips golf non stop for last few weeks I've come to conclusion I need to get some facial hair to become a better golfer

It will help weigh your chin down and keep your head still 😂

@@Mattfryergolf brilliant thanks, just finished shanking my way round the golf course so I'll email now, and thanks to everyone who liked my comment
The best thing about par 3's, I like big putts and I cannot lie.
🤣🤣
In high school, our basketball coach was also the former golf instructor (we no longer had a golf team). He told me to aim to the middle of the green - no matter what. This has helped my scoring immensely - especially on par 3s. Pin hunting is for the good to great golfers. The rest of us just need to be putting as soon as possible.
I made the high tee error for many years, glad I've sorted it now!!!
Great tips for the high or mid handicapper and a good reminder for the lowbies. Cheers Matt
Learned a lot about T height, will try this - thanks.
Excellent video and some really good thoughts when playing par 3s I’m sure this will help all !!!
This is so true ! At my club we have the 14th it’s 111 yards and very few walk of with par
I think you have identified the most common reason most golfers fail to score better on par 3’s. Club selection. Going with the club that they are comfortable hitting specific yardage rather than clubbing up or down to land their shot in the best green location. I am definitely guilty of doing this. Appreciate the instruction.
Great video. My stats on par 3s for 2023 were terrible, definitely an area I need to get better at.
Love the Tuesday Tips!
Enjoyed this one Matt, not sure about the last tip but that might just be me. I prefer and have more success putting uphill, and lets face it most or many par 3 greens slope upwards from front to back, therefore I don't want to pass the flag if I can help it. I'm sharing this vid with a few friends and hopefully you'll get a few more well deserved subs. Cheers🍺
+1 here. A little short is preferable to long on all 4 of my course's par 3's.
love it matt!
Love your entertainment Matt and also love watching the fear in high handicappers taking on a par 3 with water in front.🤣
Great tips Matt! Love the distance tip, as where i play it's quite windy and always need to club up or down on the par threes! 👍👍
I like tips like this, it can lower our score.
The 3rd hole at my home course is a 120-160 yard par 3 with a long (north-south) narrow green. I'm am guilty of shooting a laser to the pin and grabbing a club. I can't count the times I've headed to this hole even par and then shot a double !! Great tips on this video - I'll take a smarter approach next time!
Thank you Matt.
Our 17 is a par 3, pitching wedge of the mats but I’m usually short. If I use my 9 it’s often long above the hole! It’s a sloping hole front to back so below a chip and run up the hill is better the trying to chip down!
Thank u for the tips Matt
Great vlog as always Matt , but I'm really looking forward to seeing the new putter that's going in the bag after the other one has been boarded up in a dark cupboard 😊⛳👍
Great lesson tar
Great tips as ever
Good advice, as usual Matt, thank you!
When teed up, are you still after a divit after the ball?
My game is finally coming together. What I need to work out is my course management and green reading. I think if I had a caddie for these things, I would shoot massively lower
Really great tips, thanks matt
Love the top tips!!!
Great tips, presented clearly and usefully . . . typical on this channel. Thanks.
Great video Pete!
😉
Good advice as always Matt
Good solid advice
Great short sharp tips👍
Great stuff Matt,
Loving your channel since I discovered it. Keep up the great work.
Is love you channel great tips
Thanks Matt. These are really great, simple tips that I’m sure most already know. However, it’s good to be reminded to play to your strengths and be smart by playing the numbers in the conditions and pin placement provided. It’s also a good reminder to not get caught up with what others are using club wise and simply following the pack. This was mentioned to myself recently when I played against my father in our yearly match. Dad’s 77 and has only recently gone from a single digit to an 11 handicap, where I’m 50 and playing off 4. It was his home course so I kept asking what he was hitting on par3’s. If he was using a 6 iron I was grabbing my 52 however I did have a couple that were short and just missed the front of the green. This reminder would’ve served me better a few weeks ago so Dad didn’t end up with bragging rights for the next 12 months. 😂
Brilliant
Tip 1. Best advice ever.
Don’t have anyone to share it with but I’ll still give a comment
A very helpful lesson, a lot of things I wasn’t even close to considering 😮😅
Excellent tips Matt, I find myself pin hunting when I shouldn’t
Let's get to that 300k! Go Matt!
Quick question on tip number 1. Are the red plastic tees short enough? They are the smallest tees you can buy.
Some good tips, the first one I can see times where it's good to tee it a bit higher if you want loft especially if it's been very dry during the summer and the ball rolls further.. if you tee it up a bit and get hight it can land softer and less roll off . In the winter or wet you didn't get that issue
Unfortunately Matt with the first tip, at Wrag Barn (where I play most of my golf), all of the par 3's are on matts (for most of the winter) and do not take tees well, so I have to use cones which are higher than you suggests. Any ideas to get over this problem please?
Great video, thanks Matt. Great giveaway prize too! Hope you can get to 300k!!!
Surely another tip would be look at the stroke index. Par 3’s are not away the easiest holes on the card and I have found that by saying off my handicap I should get a 4 and by playing safe I often give myself a chip and a putt for a 3 and by doing so have stopped getting the 5’s and 6’s
I tend not to use a tee with my irons. Nice video Matt but I can’t share because I have nobody to share with.
I am as guilty of aiming at the flag as anyone, I put this down to primeval hunting instinct i.e. in order to eat you had to aim at or near the target. I do try to aim past the flag if space permits, but still lapse and aim at the flag, so this is a welcome reminder !! Thanks.
Matt , I'm 70 years old, do you recommend using a softer ball when it's cold ?
I used to tee too high and as soon as I had it just on the top of the turf it started improving my strike every time.
Hey matt I’m matt lol. I started golfing 2 years ago with a typical slice. I managed to fix that thanks to RUclips but not hit all my irons and wedges left can you help me??
Weather changes seem to cause the most headaches for the people I usually play with. My misses are purely for research purposes of course...
Annika said she always played to the middle of the green and putted to the edges.
First time viewer!
Never hit a par 3 green, collapse every time. hence 29 handicap. gonna try the 2 club up and relax
Crazy how Matt out drives Rick Shiels with a much easier looking swing
You need a challenge Matt to analyse my game
Day /video 31 the er5 gonna be mine yet
Here's a comment for the video lesson. I would share the video, but I don't have any friends.
Is Matt Fryer the most dashing bald man in the world? Discuss.
Yes
Why don't you inform your watchers (new to golf) that the marker is from that spot measured to the center of the green? That way, they'll learn that is how it's done at all golf courses. Also explain that the greenskeeper(s) will move pin and tee box locations 2 or 3 times a week, if not daily? And golf courses (here in the U.S.) will either have flag colors indicating pin placement (front, middle or back) and/or pin placement sheets or scorecard rotations?
Par 3's destroy my round
Golf is complicated 😅
I have had a lesson off your dad so would like to compare 😂
I would also suggest not hitting a beautiful 5 hybrid that gets almost to the green and suddenly turns left.😢
If I only had a pound for every ‘guaranteed’ swing fix…. Harry Potter couldn’t get me to hit a straight shot 😢
Help me please Matt, my swing needs help and I have no friends😉
The ball is supposed to go where you aim...😂
day 1 of commenting until you respond
Pick me I need all the help I can get brother. Lol.
