When Kristen pulled out the cortado and Brennan had to take a minute to really school himself into not letting this derail his cool scary moment by breaking. That got me.
Kalina and Kipperlily are both excellent villains for Kristen, for opposite reasons.
Kalina is utterly unflappable, never breaks no matter how much Kristen trie to tick her off. However Kipperlily is terrifying because you can see her getting backed into a corner and becoming more and more unhinged with every run-in with Kristen

It makes Kristen's journey through high school so believable like her voice got deeper as she grows older.

when i saw the junior year part i instantly thought of this sophomore year convo with kalina!!! i love that ally keeps similar reactions
watching old clips of ally is so... i honestly dont know gow to describe it. we've watched this person go through the process of transition basically live. as a non-binary person myself, it's like being given a mirror that can show you both your past and future. kudos to them and their journey!

Looking back at this first clip, it is so interesting to see all of Kipper. Lily's hate and jealousy bleed through. It was something that I thought was happening like it was just the party is jealous of how far the bad kids have come. Even though they don't go to school.
I legitimately had a thought of what about the other students while these group of kids are saving the world? What are the other kids doing like? Why isn't this a schooly issue?
I started to realize this while rewatching sophomore year before i try junior year. I forgot about how Skrank actually fucks and there was this little drama in the seven's party. (I have yet to watch the seven's campaign)
Now im just thinking "whats going on with everyone? Would gilear do much better if they didnt constantly add him into everything?!"

Even though I haven't heard it said how things might've been different from Adventuring Party, I have wondered how Kalina would have been present in Junior Year. Might she have been able to comment on Kipperlily and the other Rat Grinders' intense feelings, as they seemed like a reflection of her former self? Would she have accidentally gotten picked up by Aelwyn? So curious
Ok but Kalina getting picked up by Aelwyn and maybe giving in to it a little bit as long as no one else sees her bc it’s nice to get taken care of sometimes…
If I had a nickel for every time that Kristen pissed off a villain in Fantasy High for asking them what they want, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

I love how Kristen just asks "what do you want" to everyone, like also tracker in SY. It's autistic-relatable, needing to ask and being blunt about it.
Also Kristen needing to have compression of friends on top of her also feels very autistic-relatable sometimes
Kristen is clearly intentionally stone facing antagonists, and not genuinely confused on what her enemies want. Both of these were threats, not questions.
@@lucas56sdd in both cases kristen doesn't actually know what they want though, she's trying to keep them talking. and kipperlilly and kalina both deflect by threatening her instead of giving her any actual clues, which is a fun detail

@@lucas56sddWhy can't it be both? Things can be nuanced. Kristen is putting on a false bravado to seem in control of the situations as the antagonists are threatening her, while goading them to slip up, but she can also be genuinely asking for their motive. Even in JY when they first met Kipperlilly, her being type A immediately made Kristen/Ally mad because as they stated it triggered their ADHD mind to hate her because she seems to have everything together, especially after the near expulsion news. You don't have to be defensive of a character over them having autistic traits or not, or others pointing them out because they find it relatable.
Sometimes i think Brennan hates Ally.
I think that a lot of Ally's traits are utterly anathema to the aspects of Brennan that he injects into his villains. Kipperlilly seems to be the utter distillation of Brennan "Trying your hardest is the most important" Lee Mulligan.
They’ve known each other for years bro, they are like family. Brennan was the one who introduced Ally to dnd!
IKristen makes Brennan work really hard with his improv skills, either by trolling or by being extremely lucky with dice rolls more often than not. D20 Live tested a lot of Brennan's patience despite having fun with it, he had to punish shenanigans more severely, like with Hilda Hilda, quadruple disadvantage, and utter intimidation.
On the opposite side, Brennan creates a bunch of scenarios with carefully placed bait hoping Ally takes the bite, even in Neverafter when Ally does a rather risky decision, Brennan goes "Beardsly, *I know you so well*" in the most proud and confident voice.
