You already know I'm the AD Thresh guy. Let's look at this build.
Sunfire first into Blade of the Ruined King (BOTRK) is something I did in Season 6, and did again when Riot decided to break tanks (again) in Season 11 with Mythics, giving us Sunfire Aegis as an overpowered Mythic item, and along with its durability, Blade of the Ruined King gives a good on-hit effect, sustain, attack speed for your own on-hit, and generally a great all-in-one package for on-hit builds.
Afterwards, the build opts for Bloodthirster, Essence Reaver, and Infinity Edge as lategame items. Honestly, the burst was fairly welcome back then and you'd likely survive quite well in the old metas with just a Sunfire, but especially with today's Thresh passive Souls granting 1.5 on-hit damage instead of 1 back then, I'd prefer items with more attack speed. Runaan's Hurricane would be a great shout back then, and most iterations of Guinsoo's Rageblade, especially the Season 10 one with Hybrid Penetration, would be amazing!

Second Wind vs poke / Bone Plating against early game burst and fighters
Overgrowth if need a huge tank / Revitalize against poke / Unyielding tenacity for overwhelming CC or you need Plated Steelcaps instead of Mercs (though merc treads is usually enough)
