PAN and Pin are conjoined twins from Thailand - the two girls are joined from their hips down, meaning they share one pair of legs. Separating Pan and Pin is a possibility, but an incredibly risky operation with a 50/50 chance of survival. Their grandmother Noknoi has brought them up since birth, due to their parents being unable to take care of them full time. Noknoi told Truly: "It was challenging at the beginning, because I've only ever raised a one-headed child." Pan and Pin are now thriving, however, as they've learnt to walk and can even cycle independently. "We have to cooperate, there are some times when our legs can't support our weight well, we fall a lot," Pan and Pin said. Since they share a stomach, the twins also have to eat separately to avoid digestion problems. Despite the difficulties, the twins say they love being conjoined because it means they are never lonely and always have each other's support.

But the fact that the video never mentions gender or gender related words like "she", "her", "girls", "sisters", etc. --except when Pan speaks about Pin--makes me wonder if Pan is identifying as a male; but either the producers or family don't feel the world is ready for that truth yet. I don't judge. I don't know what it feels like to be born in the wrong skin, so it's not my place to say they're wrong, when I don't know what I'd be talking about. But it's just possible Pan likes a short haircut. It wouldn't be the first time a haircut made a girl look like a boy (we called them "tomboys" back in the day...and I was a tomboy many times). It also wouldn't be the first time a girl that age wanted to identify as a boy. I'm just glad Pin and Pan are healthy and have a loving and supportive family. 🙂
@@flxmkr I only heard the word "she" being used when Pan referred to Pin picking the outfits. That combined with the different lengths of their hair made me think that they're the same biological sex (which is, as far as I know, what all conjoined twins have to be), but opposite genders.

If they share one system from the navel down that must include digestive and reproductive system. I can’t imagine how a separation surgery would go. They seem to function well together and I wish them the best.
@@seejaneread you don't necessarily need anything below the spine, there's other ways to get urin and feces out of the body but since they share a spine it probably wouldn't work out sperating them
I thought it was a boy and girl , maybe the haircuts gave me that impression.
I am the mom of 2 sets of twins and one lot are a boy and girl twin so I feel very connected and protective of other twins. I just hope they live happy and productive lives and people realize they can do what everyone else can do.
They are twin sisters. I just googled because it boggled my mind how they could be conjoined if they were fraternal twins.

What a lovely family, and the twins have such a great spirit! I'm no expert, but it feels like if each of them uses a crutch, it might help with supporting their weight? Obviously it will take work to coordinate, but they've nailed walking and cycling, so I'm sure they could manage it ❤️.
They need to work out their leg muscles like a weightlifter in competition .
The grandmother is an intelligent woman. Those children gave me a big boost of encouragement. They are true love.

@@lizxu322 they are both females. They come from the same fertilized egg that split. Siamese twins are always the same gender. One female just has her hair cut shorter that’s all.
If they were to separate, each would be severely disabled so I doubt they will choose that

hmm, the fact that they fall down often leads me to believe they each control one leg, and that maybe sometimes they become out of sync with eachother so that is why they fall.

There is an article in a Spanish language news paper concerning this set of conjoined twins. One of the twins only has feeling on the upper outside of the right leg. While the other has feeling in everything below the waist, and some dumbness in the upper outside of the right leg. How accurate the article is I can not say something might be lost in translation original interview in regional Thai language , translated to Thai, translated to Spanish, then to english.

If they are separated and if they survive this highly risky surgery, they will not lead independent life. They will most likely end up in wheelchairs and may even be paralyzed.

There are strong people in this world. Truly amazing.
Wowza! To see their smiles made me cry! And, instead of talking about difficulty, they stress that "We are never lonely, we always have someone to play with." I love these people without even knowing them, if that is possible.
They make me feel cheap and petty to complain about my problems, the way that the kids seem to grasp their situation, and make the best of it, taking it head on. And the adults? They are awesome for taking care of these two as well as they do, and instilling that positive attitude into them.

I don’t know why my brain went so morbid, but I started to think “what if one passed away” since morality for conjoined twins is pretty low. I hope they both live a long and happy life though!
It's not morbid, there's cases in which one of the conjoined twins passes away, and the other one passes too because of the shock. The ones I remember were Chang y Eng Bunker, from Siam
If one goes the other one will go soon after cause they'd be connected to a dead individual and the decomposition of one will poison the other

At a city bus station I saw a teen who didn't have arms, but only his hands. He was on his cell phone texting away he didn't drop his cell once. Think of all the cell phones dropped by people with 2 fully functional arms and hands.

When a grandmother looks after children, any kind of children, they tend to do extremely well because of that wisdom she has. Well done to them all. When they grow heavier as adults it will probably be harder to walk although i suppose if one pair of human legs can carry people double normal weight (common with obese people) they should be able to cope
