Main problem is he clipped off to the leg he was on so if that bolt holding the leg failed which I've seen happen, he would end up falling to the water with a 30 pound pole

Hahaha that's true.Until you start erecting scaffolding then you'll be disconnected from that training and be turned into a builder who knows what he's doing .
Sometimes you have to do things the easy way instead of the safe way.. Everybody in here saying his harness is attached wrong ...so what if it is.. it's his choice to do the job .. I don't see anyone with a gun telling him to do it. Anyways if the clip brakes he lands in water
where's ur separate life line dude??? theres no life line to protect u from falling... wheres ur floating jacket ?? theres not enough safety equipment to allow u from working dude.... sometimes, safety doesn't come first. it comes third or fourth. if people had to come to these dangerous jobs in their juggernaut suit then there would be less of these workers and less building done

The fitter in the red blouse has a badly buttoned hook, if it fell, the hook is fastened in this way, most often it breaks.
You can’t attach a harness clip horizontally to a standard, if he falls the clip will break. Harness training 101

You can have side impact hooks. Especially on a retractable lanyard.

I'd your doing a hangar that means there is a beam. Which means you can use a beam strap and 40ft retract
The fact they don’t use double lanyards is more of a safety issue. There’s no way to maintain 100% tie off.

In the beginning of the video, both right angle clamps holding scaffold leg are upside down!! A real scaffold builder would have caught that! 🤦
