You should definitaly do the GKB S6 from Graz to Wies-Eibiswald and then the S7 from Graz to Köflach. Very interessting regional Trains in Styria/Austria. Both date back to late 19th/early20th century. Also, they do scenic rides with the oldest working steam lokomotive.
Also, there is the Koralmtunnel comming up, connecting Graz to the Carynthian Capital of Klagenfurt with the stunning Wörtersee.

Hey there! I am a train guard (Zugführer) stationed in Innsbruck HBF and the Route from Innsbruck to Scharnitz (and then Garmisch) is my favourite work route. However i would like to note four things:
    Firstly:
Bikes do not need a reservation. However they need a Ticket. And are therefore not carried free of charge.
The Ticket is € 1,80 (self bought) / € 2,10 (bought at the Station) for destinations below 100km, farther than that it is 10% of the Ticket price for the Passenger. Entering the train without a Bike ticket will end up in a regular fine of 105€ unless the Guard shows Goodwill. Unfortunally we have many issues with people thinking they can take the bike for free :(
    Secondly:
The SBB Bag. We are allowed to use equipment of other Railway Companies to an extent. Many of us use an SBB bag, and many of the SBB Guards use our Bags. You also might notice, that many ÖBB Guards use Swiss Whistles for sending off trains (cause we deem them better than the ÖBB issued ones).
    Thirdly:
The 4024 you traveled on, was one that has not been refurbished yet. Many of our 4024's have been refurbished by now and look extremely nice now. I can highly recommend checking them out again at some point. The refurbished trains have a different colour pattern on the outside: Horizontally divided red and white.
And lastly, the Station you labeled as "Leithen" was actually Reith bei Seefeld :)
Leithen is demand stop. (Bedarfshalt, as the Anouncement System said)
So if no one pushes the button at the door, or no one is waiting on the platform, the train will just go through it. Which seems to have happened here.
Other than that i can highly recommend taking that trip again in Winter AND in Autumn on a foggy day, because you will see nothing but fog below you and it really makes for an interesting feeling looking down into an ocean of fog.
PS: Also the collegue of mine, you managed to capture in the video, is one of the nicest people i know :)

Seefeld is where my wife and I holiday almost every year (3 times in one year) since 1987. When we fly into Innsbruck airport, rather than getting a taxi to our hotel we prefer to go by bus to Innsbruck Hbf so that we can take this route by train. We just can’t get enough of Austria, Seefeld, OBB etc.

This brought back so many memories for me. My friend and I used to visit Seefeld every winter and summer back in the 70's. We had such a good time and made so many friends some of them sadly no longer with us. We then both got married and the visits stopped. This year, 2023 I am taking my daughter to see this beautiful place and we will be doing the train ride once more! and I'll be showing her my favourite places, although Seefeld has altered somewhat, it used to be much smaller. Thankyou so much!

A few years ago I went to Innsbruck, and the best way for me was to fly into Munich. I was suposed to catch the express train, but It got canceled. One of the station staff at Munich told me to catch a train to another town and catch the train from there to get to Innsbruck, which was the the complete journey on the train you took. It has to be the most beautiful train journeys I have ever been on and I would recomend it to any one, the full trip from Germany.

I love Innsbruck! We were last there in January 2020, for the World Wide Masters' Games; we went there and back by train, going in a sleeper from Cologne. I tried to book a return sleeper but couldn't - found out, too late, too late, that the day we wanted to travel was the inaugural Vienna/Innsbruck-Brussels sleeper. Oh well, we were able to break our journey in Cologne! But Innsbruck is a lovely city. Next time you are there, get the train to Jenbach, and the little mountain railway that runs, in the summer, up to Pertisau (there was talk of extending it to run all year round, but that was pre-pandemic).

That roundhouse at 6:15 as far as I know dates back to the 1930s, as well as the turntable, the latter one was renovated in the 1980s. The roundhouse, called 'Remise' is used as a storage facility for a handfull older lokomotives from various eras, and sometimes they are open to the public.

My favorite rail ride....been over it enough times to know the names of most of the bridges and tunnels. Also have hiked from Leithen to Hochzirl through the Schlossbachklamm. Very nice views up to the Schlossbach bridge and a bench directly over the portal of the third Vorberg tunnel, looking town on the Vorberg bridge - highly recommended. The only criticism I would have is that you chose a seat on the wrong side of the train - the views down into the valley and the Martinswand are spectacular.

    A correction from a local, sorry ;-)
Bikes are free to transport on trams, most busses, and IIRC the Zillertalbahn, but not on ÖBB trains.
For a single journey a bike ticket costs 10% of an adult's 2nd class ticket. From Innsbruck to Seefeld the bike would pay 1,60 €.
There are also all-Tirol bike travelcards: 2,60 € for a day (i.e. cheaper for a return situation), 5,20 € for a week, 18,00 € for a month, all valid on regional trains only (S-Bahn and REX, i.e. everthing with 'VVT' on it).
For long-distance trains (RJ, EC, IC) the bike needs a ticket (10% of 2nd class adult ticket) and a reservation (for another 3 €).
When crossing country borders it gets really complicated.

You asked about the age of the roundhouse. As the rail infrastructure around Innsbruck as well as the Hauptbahnhof and the district around it were heavily damaged by allied bombing in WWII then it probably dates from the immediate post-war period. Way back in the 1970s I attended a ski course with the Alpine School of Innsbruck and went back again in the subsequent winter. In those days the city provided a free ski bus service to the local ski resorts and you were issued with a pass to use it when you registered at your hotel. I wonder if that still exists though!

    Hi!
    Short trip, but fine!
Those Talent 3's by DB run the Werdenfelsbahn Minga-Innschbrugg via Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Shortest path in terms of length in km, but longest in terms of hours, cheaper and more spectacular than the EuroCity via the Lower Inn Valley.
In Garmisch-Partenkirchen you can change to the Zugspitzbahn that takes you to the top of Germany. I took it last weekend to hike round the Eibsee and I'm currently working on a short video of that trip.
Just before I forget it: You've been featured in the last video of my channel. I'd be very glad if you check it out.

13:20 There is one nice mountain railway diverting from the main railway line in my region of Czech Republic, it's a line to "Moldava v Krušných horách", you can either take a modern quick train from Děčín, Ústí nad Labem or Teplice or slower, older train from Most. Advantage is that these big stations have direct, rather modern train connection from Prague, but one small disadvantage is that these mountain trains run on weekends only.
Another two rather interesting Czech mountain railways that come to my mind now is Liberec to Szklarska Poręba Górna or Karlovy Vary to Johanngeorgenstadt, these run the entire week
