Victory Rolls are super easy to do on natural hair, and hopefully, this video will show you how easy. I'm really excited about this Black Pinup series of videos, because I've wanted to do it for a long time! There will be 3-5 videos depending on if I can get it done or not.
I know you may have questions and I have some answers. If you don't find the answer below or in my FAQ video (linked above), feel free to let me know in the comments section.
-My hair is in an old blowout -about a week old.
-My hair color is a mix of Manic Panic colors that is severely fading.
-If I wasn't filming this style takes about 10 (maybe 15) minutes to do from start to finish.
-I used eco styler olive oil gel on my edges.
-This style can be done on most lengths and any texture as long as the hair is stretched.
*BONUS*
Step-by-step instructions for the back weave design:
1. Part hair into 3 sections and secure outer 2 sections out of the way-can be 3 equal sections, just make sure the outer two sections are equal.
2. comb/brush all of the hair in the middle section up toward the crown of your head and secure at the crown with bobby pins
3. grab a small section of hair appx. 1" from the left outer section and cross it diagonally over the middle section to the right side. (*tip: If your hair is not long enough to hold in place with your hand or it is not long enough to reach the opposite side, you can pin it in place with a bobby pin)
4. grab a small section from the right outer section and cross it diagonally over the middle to the left side.
5 repeat steps 3 and 4 until you run out of hair on the outer sections.
6. Pin excess hair at the crown of your head with bobby pins.

I'm SO glad you posted this video. For YEARS I've been searching to find some diversity pertaining to pinup styles for natural hair, and I always resorted to full-out straightening my hair (which is colored so that's not the move). Beautiful girl, beautiful hair!

So I'm actually Mexican with wavy hair so I technically have no reason to be here BUT I was curious because I had never seen a pinup hair tutorial for black women and I'm so glad I did. I would love to see you do some more of these videos! I have been looking everywhere for tutorials on how to do vintage hair styles on curly hair and this is one of 2 I could find! I am white (obviously) but, my mom and I have some really tight curly hair. Every single video of vintage hair styles I have seen are of white women with stick straight hair. Drives me bonkers! I appreciate this Tutorial! Thank you so much! My daughter is in a Musical this weekend, and the setting of the play is in the 1930's. We needed this right here. I've seen pics of this hair style in that era, but though it was much more difficult to achieve. Her hair is locked but I think this would still work! Thanks!

This looks incredible, I can't believe how easy you make this look. I have ultra-caucasian hair, very fine and slippery and it takes me HOURS to get this style. You just whip it out. Your hair looks so good like this!
