Dear Loly, both Pentatonix and another Acapella group Home Free have a LOTTTT to react to. For Pentatonix (JUST RECENTLY) have released Amazing Grace with Beautiful scenery where they filmed it and they JUST released the first video for their new Christmas album. That song is 12 Days Of Christmas. A couple others is Daft Punk and Bohemian Rhapsody (Where Kirstin is wearing CUTE High Heels and fishnet pantyhose)😃💓 So many more. For Home Free the first song I would LOVE you to react to is Man Of Constant Sorrow (The music video that shows them standing together, not the Live version) One of their multitude of songs is also Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens. Since the lockdown because of the virus they have also made a number of songs from their different homes and edited them together including one called Quarantine that is a comedic look at the situation we are in. You might have to watch more than once to catch all the funny parts such as the words at the bottom and when one of them PURPOSELY coughs. By the way, fans of Pentatonix are called Pentaholics and fans of Home Free are called Home Fries. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓. XXX
Welcome. Always nice to see a new person discover this epic group. Waiting for more. Your subs should blow up if you continue down this rabbit hole. There are soooo many great tunes to see and the Pentaholics will support you Thanx!
More PTX, please! Check out their covers of Amazing Grace, sound of silence, daft punk, imagine, can you feel the love tonight, evolution of Michael Jackson... everything they do is amazing!
That is the power of music, to be able to create emotions and move us. Imagine, sound of Silence, can you feel the love tonight, Bohemian rhapsody, daft punk medley, Mary did you know,...there are sooooooo many. welcome to the rabbit hole known as PTX.
Welcome to the new world of a capella. Pentatonix and Home Free have rewritten the book on a capella worldwide. All of the suggestions for more songs to listen to are great. Pentatonix has 3 Grammys, one for their "Daft Punk Medley" (Daft Punk), one for their "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" (Tchaikovsky), and one for basically being Dolly Parton's backup band(?) on "Jolene". Also, try "Imagine" (John Lennon), "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen), "Mad World" (Tears for Fears), "Sound of Silence" (Simon and Garfunkel), and of course, any of their Christmas music. For Home Free may I recommend their "Man of Constant Sorrow", "Ring of Fire" (Johnny Cash), and my favorite, "Helplessly Hoping" (Crosby, Stills & Nash) (and then a quarantined Italian Youth Choir's cover of Home Free's arrangement).
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies is one of my favorites of theirs. Also Bohemian Rhapsody, Carole of the Bells, Little Drummer Boy. You really can't go wrong.
Watch your subscriptions skyrocket as you cover Pentatonix songs - you'll be a Pentaholic soon! Check out their Sounds of Silence, Imagine, Daft Punk and Bohemian Rhapsody covers! (and thats just a start!) We LOVE PTX!!
Their cover of Amazing Grace is a must see!! It’s so emotional and just breath taking. All of their songs are amazing regardless if it’s a cover or original. An original I recommend is Happy Now.
Its praise to God that can be seen in scripture that si sung when He opens the Gates to Paradise and we all sing that phrase to Him, our Spirit understands this and longs for that connection with Him Naturally. No I'm not nuts, Just speaking humbly and honestly :).... Beautiful reaction, The joy people feel when they hear this is awesome to experience with them as I did with you all over again, every time, it doesnt get old. This group has become an intrument, they are so blessed with pure talent!
Hi Loly! Fan of yours since Marcellito days. Amazing to finally see you join the Pentatonix universe. Since it is Christmas, may I suggest some of their Christmas songs. Mary Did You Know, Silent Night, Amazing Grace and 2 of their newest releases Thank You and 12 Days Of Christmas. Have a blessed day!
If you want to see their journey I suggest you start from the very very beginning? They won a singing competition called the sing off in 2011! It showcases their very first live performance together and they just grow and get better every performance!
Funny you should mention The Bellas. You have heard Pentatonix sing together before!! When The Bellas went to the "Worlds" in Copenhagen, Denmark, Pentatonix performed as the Canadian group.
Loved your reaction. I've heard PTX sing this a hundred times and it still gives me goose bumps when I hear it. Being Christmas time, I recommend you check out some of their Christmas music. You might want to start out with their Grammy Award winning "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy". It is a composition created for an orchestra and has no words, PTX sings the parts, no instruments, it is amazing!
I’ve watched this a hundred times. All the little things I love: Fade to black frames - take a breath moments. Kirstie’s little transitional melody from solo to chorus. Mitch’s little voice break on the word “light”. Scott’s sly look during the quiet octave unison hallelujah before the climax, like “heh heh... you know what’s coming.” The whole quiet unison part. And the absolutely delicious climax.
Dear Loly. Check out some of their earlier Christmas music as well, Carol of the Bells is GORGEOUS, Mary, Did You Know is a true miracle, SOOO many others...
Welcome to the world of Pentatonix, or PTX for short. Get ready for a quick boost to your channel from their rabid fans who call ourselves “Pentaholics”. Here is a quick intro to the group. PTX is a five member “a Capella” (without instruments) vocal band formed in 2011 for the NBC television reality competition show “The Sing Off”. The original members are “the trio”, who went to high school together in Arlington, Texas made up of: SCOTT HOYING, (male, 6’3”, usually blond) who sings baritone, but has a wide vocal range and covers the bass line of songs when the normal bass is singing a lead. MITCH GRASSI, (male, 5’10”, normally black hair but has changed body mass, wardrobe and hair style so much in videos he’s often mistaken for different people) who has an amazingly high range (contra tenor) that some mistake for a second female voice. KIRSTIN MALDONADO, (female, 5’4”, natural hair color is black but changed it often in videos) who sings mezzo soprano and, for a time in 2018 between the group’s tours, had the female lead on Broadway in the production of “Kinky Boots”. Added to “the trio” for the show were: AVI KAPLAN, (Male, 5’11”, long dark hair, beard, usually wears a knit hat of some kind) is a classically trained “basso profundo”. He provides the vocal bass line as well as added vocal percussion but often uses his upper registry to sing vocal leads in a number of arrangements. Avi is the ONLY member of the band that has change. He left on good terms in 2017 for reasons related to conflicting demands of the band’s touring schedule and his personal/family commitments. He assisted the group in finding his replacement Matt Sallee. KEVIN OLUSOLA (male, 6’1”, black, changing hair style) known as “KO” was asked to join PTX to provide vocal percussion after Scott watched a RUclips video of him “cello boxing” (beatboxing while playing his cello). KO is the classic over achiever of the group. He plays Cello, Piano, and Saxophone all at concert levels. He graduated pre-med from Yale, speaks Spanish and spent over a year in China where he became fluent in Chinese. He sings Tenor but vocals were not his strong suite when he started so he worked with other band members and a vocal coach until while on tour he would perform the featured vocals in "if I ever fall in love", (originally performed by guest artist Jason Derulo for the album and video). He also writes and produces music both individually and for the group. So, KO is more than “just the beatboxer”. The most recent member and the only change in the group’s membership is: MATT SALLEE, (male, 5’9” black with usually close-cut black hair) who replaced Avi Kaplan in 2017 to provide vocals, vocal bass and percussion. Matt can be heard using his exceptional upper vocal range to provide a rich tenor/baritone lead often ending with a slide down to a deep bass punch. Things you need to know because if you get these wrong Pentaholics will come after you with pitch forks and torches! 1- There is NO Auto-Tune or layering; what you hear is actually what they sing. They really are that good. 2- What produces everything that you hear in the video, you see in the video. If there is an instrument used in the music, you see it on screen. 3- They never release something on video they can’t reproduce with the exact same quality live on-stage.
PTX won The SingOff in 2011. All of their performances there are available online. Winning got them a contract with Sony Music, who placed them with Epic, but the new CEO of Epic didn't believe acapella would sell and insisted on dropping them (Epic fail). They were assigned to a minor Sony label, until they did this: ruclips.net/video/3MteSlpxCpo/видео.html, which got a LOT of attention! They recorded it in a closet and filmed it in a kitchen, spending $450, and won their first Grammy! After that, RCA, yet another Sony label, requested to pick them up and loves them. They've put out Christmas albums almost every year and top the charts with each one. Try "Little Drummer Boy" or "Mary Did You Know" or any other one you see that tickles your fancy. One of their most recent is "Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone". Their harmonies have gotten ever more complex over the years, but they insist on being able to reproduce whatever they record in their live performances. Here's a live version of "Hallelujah" which you can compare to the one you just saw: ruclips.net/video/haFHrfmfHbc/видео.html . As they've matured, so have their voices. They all have such amazing range that they can cover for one another on solos. The incredibly talented beatboxer, Kevin, occasionally plays the cello..see their cover of "Shallow". Enjoy!
I could tell you were getting chills/goosebumps from parts of it, yeah?! Other *great* performances: "Amazing Grace" "Thank You" "Mary Did You Know?" "Say Something" "Sound Of Silence" "Bohemian Rhapsody" "Daft Punk Medley" "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" "The 12 Days Of Christmas" "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairies" ... this gets a special mention because: this is a purely instrumental piece of music, performed purely & completely *(& beautifully)* ... *without* instruments! What a concept! The 1st three are just *so* powerful you'll probably end up looping them repeatedly (along with "Hallelujah")! "Say Something" is also *very* powerful, but it's *such* a melancholic love-song, the way that they perform it, that you'll probably have to pause it in between plays to catch your breath! (Have tissues handy! Which you'll almost certainly *also* need for "Thank You"!) *Enjoy!*
Welcome to the PTX Rabbit hole! you're stuck here now! here's a guide to the group Scott Hoying: the blond guy. He's the baritone of the group, often sings lead, and sometimes Bass whenever the bass singer is singing lead. Mitch Grassi: the guy with the hat. He changes his style a lot so it's hard to tell you exactly what he looks like. he's a Counter-tenor, and can sing insanely high for a male Kirstin Maldonado: the only female of the group. She is a mezzo soprano (I think, i could be wrong). she occasionally sings lead but usually plays more of the "instrumental" parts. Kevin Olusola: the beatboxer of the group. Also has an amazing singing voice, and can play the cello. he also speaks i think 4 languages. Avi Kaplan: the bearded dude. He's the bass of the group. He's been operatically trained, and is a Basso Profundo. He left the group in 2017 bc he couldn't keep up with the schedule. Matt Sallee: Replaced Avi in 2017, so he's not in this video, obviously. He does an amazing job of filling in the low notes. Ben Bram: the "invisible" 6th member, he's their producer, sound engineer, and helps arrange the music. you won't see him in any videos, obviously. some fun facts: Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin grew up and went to high school together, and were singing together for a good chunk of that They found Kevin from one of his Cello Beatboxing videos that went viral They won The Sing Off back in 2011 which gave them a decent boost. Most of their older videos are quite literally recorded in a closet. They pride themselves on being able to replicate a studio recording perfectly when live, so everything you hear isn't edited at all. They have 3 grammys, one for the Best Country Duo/Group Performance, which was their cover of Jolene, another for Best arrangement, which was their Daft Punk cover medley (which was one of the ones recorded in a closet) and the third one also for Best Arrangement, which was their cover of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Welcome to the world of Pentatonix! I hope you enjoy it!
Keep them coming! This was a great PTX reaction. There are so many to choose from but if you want to stick with Christmas, try Mary Did You Know and Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy (won a grammy for this!)
If you like Pentatonix you will also like anotherf A Capella band called HOME FREE. PLEASE check out their cover of RING OF FIRE ft AVI KAPLAN HOME FREE and PTX do the same exact thing but in a completely different way
Great rendition of this song. But Leonard Cohen wrote 81 verses to it, so he could change them up in concert, and we heard 4 of them here.......well worth checking them out........your reaction was great, and so honest. Everyone should listen to it
The Sound of Silence - Pentatonix ruclips.net/video/gdVjVtpr55M/видео.html also Mad World ruclips.net/video/Md8kADJwMQ0/видео.html And Daft Punk ruclips.net/video/3MteSlpxCpo/видео.html
Penta = Greek for five. Tonicks = music scales. Change the ck to an x just for fun. Penta tonix They are ah capella. No instruments except Kevin, who does beatboxing and percussion. In two or three pieces he plays a cello and it's wonderful. Brings tears to your eyes. You have nearly ten years to catch up on, not a bad one in the bunch.
@@Blue-rl5dp If you count Kevin's beatboxing as an instrument, you can count Mitch's guitar as an instrument, too. But then you also have to add Kevin's trumpet!
Could you please put the screen you are looking at higher so we can see you beautiful face while you're reacting? That would be nice. Looking forward to more Pentatonix reactions! 💙
If you watch any of their videos from 2017 on, you will see a change in the lineup. Their original bass, Avi Kaplan (the guy with the beanie and the beard), left the group (on good terms) for personal reasons, but before he left, he helped them find their new bass, Matt Sallee. Matt sings first on their video Amazing Grace. He also takes the lead on You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. It might look like there are other changes in the group, but their high tenor, Mitch, (the one in the hat) and their female singer, Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty), like to change their looks A LOT. If you really want to see their beginnings, start with Season 3 of the Sing-Off in 2011 (mrduckbear11 has some really good videos of their performances). They didn't become a group until they all met the day before they auditioned for the Sing-Off (spoiler - they won). They have been together ever since with only the one personnel change. Scott is their baritone and he covers everything from bass (when the bass is singing lead) to tenor. All of them have great ranges. The beatboxer, Kevin, is just incredible. Not only does he beatbox, he plays the cello, he writes music, he sings, he had just finished pre-med from Yale when he joined the group. He also speaks fluent Mandarin. All of them have uploaded solo stuff that is worth checking out. Scott and Mitch also have a channel called Superfruit that is really fun and is little more NSFW than Pentatonix. If you wonder about any additions in editing or autotuning they might do, they don't. They work very hard to insure what you hear online is what you will hear live in concert.
If you want to hear them in another song, do the song, " The Sounds of Silence " by Simon and Garfunkel. It is about a great threat to the world and the danger of repeating it again. I'll let you see if you understand the danger by listening to it. They have twice as much power there, or actually equal power, as in this song, Hallelujah.
Hello Loly, I heard your Reaction to Angelina Jordan’s Cover of Michael Jackson’s “I’ll Be There”. Thank you so much. I’ve missed you, so it was great to see you again. Take care and stay Healthy.
PTX's version of "Sound of Silence" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" will also knock your socks off! As will "Disturbed" version of "Sound of Silence" if possible watch the official video version.. its hauntingly beautiful
Listen to Marcelito Pomoy’s “Hallelujah” with his daughter d other is full HD Audio version. He is so good his voice is angelic, sublime can even feel d chills filled with emotion... indeed magical! He is not Marcelito Pomoy for nothing. Looking forward to ur reaction gonna love reacting to it. Thank u. Stay safe & healthy.
I LOVE PTX🥺❤️ btw you should also listen to the low voices (Avi or Matt and Scott) sometimes we hear it like it is just the background but if you focus on them, it's amazing
Thanks for the great reaction. PTX actually has a 'new' bass- Avi (beanie & beard) left the group for personal reasons but helped find the new bass- Matt. Check out Sound of Silence or Amazing Grace. Their Christmas music is also top tier! You're A Mean One Mr Grinch or 12 Days or Christmas are my recent faves🙌🏾 Excited to see your future reactions 😁
You can't say that word because your brain never put those sounds together in that order. It's common in languages that have fewer distinct vowel sounds. That's not the case with English, it has 2x more sounds than most other languages. In your case it's not that the brain didn't make the sounds before but instead never had the experience of arranging those sounds. It's also super easy to fix, drill the words you know give you a hard time and they won't anymore.
Hey, not sure what part of Ireland you're in, I'm in County Limerick, enjoyed your reaction and subscribed. They did a cover of the sound of silence that was amazing and talking about amazing, you should watch amazing grace too!!
For a humorous song with a sort of Christmas theme from an a cappella (vocal only) group try VoicePlay's "Oogie Boogie's Song", which is a cover of a song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Their bass vocalist has one of the lowest voices you'll probably ever hear.
Y’all have been asking for this for so long! I can see why! 💜
This is the typical reaction. Mitch sings and silence....
Mitch Grassi is a Counter-tenor and sings 6 octaves higher than most people worldwide
Daft punk, sound of silence, any of the new christmas songs. You really can't go wrong with anything you pick
Their new cover Amazing grace, must see
They are the best...outstandingly talented...all of them...you can't go wrong with any of their songs...
And there was the Mitch face....the reaction when anyone hears Mitch solo for the first time!

Pentatonix (Pehn-tah-tahn-in). And welcome to the Pentaholic club!😎
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies is one of my favorites of theirs. Also Bohemian Rhapsody, Carole of the Bells, Little Drummer Boy. You really can't go wrong.
Listen to Amazing Grace and Thank You off the current Christmas album for more heart tugging emotions.

When The Bellas went to the "Worlds" in Copenhagen, Denmark, Pentatonix performed as the Canadian group.
Someone else said this to me! I can’t believe I didn’t realize! 🙈
They are an A Cappella group and make their own instrumental sounds through the beatboxer Kevin!

Welcome to the world of Pentatonix, or PTX for short. Get ready for a quick boost to your channel from their rabid fans who call ourselves “Pentaholics”. Here is a quick intro to the group.

"Can You Feel The Love Tonight?"
"The 12 Days Of Christmas"
"Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairies" ... this gets a special mention because: this is a purely instrumental piece of music, performed purely & completely *(& beautifully)* ...
Which you'll almost certainly *also* need for "Thank You"!)
*Enjoy!*
The Sound of Silence and Daf Punk are great.

5:27 First time Mitch face.
There's a term for that: "Mitch Slapped"
😂 I was thinking the same thing!
Welcome to the PTX Rabbit hole! you're stuck here now!
here's a guide to the group
Scott Hoying: the blond guy. He's the baritone of the group, often sings lead, and sometimes Bass whenever the bass singer is singing lead.
Mitch Grassi: the guy with the hat. He changes his style a lot so it's hard to tell you exactly what he looks like. he's a Counter-tenor, and can sing insanely high for a male
Kirstin Maldonado: the only female of the group.
Ben Bram: the "invisible" 6th member, he's their producer, sound engineer, and helps arrange the music. you won't see him in any videos, obviously.
some fun facts:
Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin grew up and went to high school together, and were singing together for a good chunk of that
They found Kevin from one of his Cello Beatboxing videos that went viral
They won The Sing Off back in 2011 which gave them a decent boost.
Most of their older videos are quite literally recorded in a closet.
They pride themselves on being able to replicate a studio recording perfectly when live, so everything you hear isn't edited at all.
They have 3 grammys,
one for the Best Country Duo/Group Performance, which was their cover of Jolene,
another for Best arrangement, which was their Daft Punk cover medley (which was one of the ones recorded in a closet)
and the third one also for Best Arrangement, which was their cover of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Welcome to the world of Pentatonix! I hope you enjoy it!
Please react to Pentatonix Amazing Grace
Would love to see you react to "Mary did you know".
I’ll pop in onto my list 😊
Their first performances were on the singoff, an a capella contest. The best poster of these performances is mrduckbear.
PLEASE check out their cover of RING OF FIRE ft AVI KAPLAN
HOME FREE and PTX do the same exact thing but in a completely different way
Great rendition of this song. But Leonard Cohen wrote 81 verses to it, so he could change them up in concert, and we heard 4 of them here.......well worth checking them out........your reaction was great, and so honest. Everyone should listen to it

Dance of the Sugar Plumb Faries
Loly Hi!! Nice tree!! Pentatonix is great. Morissette has many new videos but 1 “Ain’t been done” is 🔥 👍🙏😍❤️
Penta = Greek for five.
Tonicks = music scales.
Change the ck to an x just for fun.
Penta tonix
They are ah capella. No instruments except Kevin, who does beatboxing and percussion. In two or three pieces he plays a cello and it's wonderful. Brings tears to your eyes. You have nearly ten years to catch up on, not a bad one in the bunch.
... and Scott playing piano and with Lindsey Stirling and her violin or with an orchestra ...
@@schuhschrank947 There's also Mitch on a megaphone pretending to be a guitar as well. Does that count as an instrument?
@@Blue-rl5dp If you count Kevin's beatboxing as an instrument, you can count Mitch's guitar as an instrument, too. But then you also have to add Kevin's trumpet!
Could you please put the screen you are looking at higher so we can see you beautiful face while you're reacting? That would be nice. Looking forward to more Pentatonix reactions! 💙
Hi 👋🏻 from Canada 🇨🇦
If you want something relevant to the feel of 2020 their cover of John Lennon’s Imagine is incredible (have tissue) or Mad World.
From Canada, too. They have six albums of Christmas songs, and their latest one is spectacular.
It's a little discombobulating to see it played backwards after watching it so many times :)
Can you feel the love tonight
OMG those eyes.....
Some good eyeshadow 😂
Hello Loly, I heard your Reaction to Angelina Jordan’s Cover of Michael Jackson’s “I’ll Be There”. Thank you so much. I’ve missed you, so it was great to see you again. Take care and stay Healthy.

He is not Marcelito Pomoy for nothing. Looking forward to ur reaction gonna love reacting to it. Thank u. Stay safe & healthy.
I LOVE PTX🥺❤️
btw you should also listen to the low voices (Avi or Matt and Scott) sometimes we hear it like it is just the background but if you focus on them, it's amazing
They can perform all their songs live, without microphones, stage, or any support.

Hey, not sure what part of Ireland you're in, I'm in County Limerick, enjoyed your reaction and subscribed. They did a cover of the sound of silence that was amazing and talking about amazing, you should watch amazing grace too!!
Dublin 😊 Hi Limerick! thanks so much for watching! Ill check it out! 😊
If I ever hear it, I'll be disappointed by angel song.
If you like a capella you must check out Home Free ...
I suggest watching there rendition of Amazing Grace, it is beautiful. Also Mary did you know?
You gotta react to Run to you by Pentatonix. It's an original 💛
