- Almost two thousand years ago (79 AD) powerful eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried in volcanic ash the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and killed thousands of people.
UNESCO listed the ruins of these cities as World Heritage sites: "the impressive remains of the towns of Pompei and Herculaneum and their associated villas, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79, provide a complete and vivid picture of society and daily life at a specific moment in the past that is without parallel anywhere in the world." (whc.unesco.org/en/list/829)
Recorded October 2017 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX100.

Italy has everything; a rich culture, beautiful nature, nice people and delicious food. Thank you my dear friend for this wonderful video.

And dangerous volcanoes 🤔

Amazingly beautiful !
Thanks for sharing 👍
Excellent presentation, this is a good example of the ancient Roman building architecture ... all the great cultures have flourished in their time ....
Milosh, I really enjoyed this video. Very nice background music, too. Cheers, Mate.
Thank you, great pictures !
Come sempre spettacoloso.
francesco mennella
Perfect music for this video, thanks
Can't beat your videos. Thank you, so very much.
Beautiful video. I went to Pompeii and I went to Mount Vesuvius ..... I loved it!!!! I cannot wait to one day I can return and walk more of Pompeii because of the bigness of it. What a beautiful place to visit.
Complimenti. Saluti dall'Italia. 👍 345. Ciao, Lorenzo.
Out of all the videos I've seen, this one is the BEST on Pomoeii, /herculaneum, and Mt. Vesuvius. Thank you so much for sharing.
This is the best footage I have ever seen of these two archaeological sites and the music fitted the locations perfectly. I find your technique of slow panning at a low frame rate to be very good, I can do it with a gimbal but not as well by hand.
In some location it is nice to include walking shots, I will probably get a gimbal with my next camera :)
I think I have seen in your credits that you also use a small Sony mirrorless camera of high quality which would fit on the gimbal I have. Its a Zhiyun Crane and the results have been very good. I have used an entry level Nikon camera with it that is a bit light for what the gimbal is designed for but by adding the weight of a Manfrotto quick release it seems to behave itself.
Steve Hutchesson yes, I always have both with me, a6300 usually for low light and backup. Looking for something new, but might take time ...
Nice place.... I lived several years in Massa Carrara when I purchased marble for several projects for the US government... Thanks for the video ! ..... Brings back memories....
Amazingly beautiful - as are all your other videos. Thanks!
+Amazing Places on Our Planet - Thank you Milosh for another evocative video. The sad but beautiful music sets the tone for the viewing of the place that was destroyed by Mount Vesuvius, which now stands as an empty vessel. The spectacular, still-remaining paintings of the people show the pale-skinned women being sold as slaves and the two colors of the main ethnicities (very pale white and very tan) and of course, the sculptures and paintings of men in spectacular physical condition.
At 1:57 and 2:07, you captured two men in paintings that suffered from the same, terrible condition! Clearly, they were famous and worthy of portraits!
Of course, I wish I had been there in person to see this, but watching your video is the next best thing.
You truly deserve your name, Casually Observant :)
Cheers :)
Witam i dziękuję za piękno, super lekcja historii. 🌻

BEAUTIFUL I VISIT POMPEII EVERY TIME I AM IN ITALY.
Firstly, regards and a salute for the
Video. This is simply a rare document, a long lasting appetiser
for human civilization. Amazing unique music? That is also archaeological.
Great music to accompany spectacular footage. Thanks for sharing my friend and fellow Montrealer ;-)
Always appreciated, Cheers :)

Fine work. Thank you very much!!!

Thank you very, very much!!!!! I was in Pompeii.
Excellent !
I was speechless to see in person the effect of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
Super nice and I feel like visiting! Thanks for the video so that I can visit!
I've never been this early... beautiful video by the way.
Amazing footage, the music is composed for this, really great!!!
Thank you Andy! Really happy I stumbled upon this music, and I could license it for the video.
Pompeii is the best preserved ancient roman site. I was very impressed after my visit. Also Herculaneum is great to visit, just not so big like Pompeii.
Truly Amazing footage in this video . Thank you for the Journey my dear friend Milosh . Have a beautiful new Year in 2018 . 😊
Wonderful New Year to you too Isabel!
really fabulous, many thanks very much
Thanks for the memories of being in the valley of Vesuvius several years ago. Awesome photography... and a caution to the future "what if" heaven forbid, Vesuvius were to erupt today with the increased population?? An Amazing Place!
Lindo vídeo, Parabéns! Muita paz, saúde e sucesso pra você e toda a sua família.
It would be more effective if you give some description about the historical place while recording video,
Or to give screenshots of description in between .thankyou
your work is owesum
Thanks amazing video.
Looks great! Thanks!
Nice dear I have seen your video so good job from India
Besides the superb capture of the various locations in all your productions, I am also impressed with the technical quality, particularly with the smoothness of your pans, which pan tilt head - tripod do you use? I switched from a heavy Sony EX3 to the AX100 about 18 months ago, but I am having problems using the camera on my heavy duty tripod as it seems to lack the heavier weight of my previous camera. Or are you using a Gimbal?
No gimbal, holding and moving steady, and then applying in post Adobe Premiere stabilization
This is one place I would really love to go to before I leave this world Pompeii. My Grandfather a very loving and wonderful man came to the United States when he was a boy of 10 yrs old from Italy. So there are a few other places I also wish to visit there also, look up family I have never met too.
Thank you Milosh, always very interesting and it is great pleasure to share your work.
Have a wonderful day ☼. As you maybe know we had a snowstorm, 30 cm.
Fun for kids not for us.
Yes, beautiful snow, I truly enjoyed it :)
The cause of the demise of Herculaneum and Pompeii was, in all likelihood, a collapsing eruptive column, which, in turn, generated massive pyroclastic flows (neuees ardentes), which snuffed out life very rapidly. A slow rain of ash may be escaped: but not a pyroclastic flow. Most volcanoes make for exciting holidays: try Etna (Sicily), Stromboli (Aeolian Islands), the Azores (mid-Atlantic), and the Cumbre Vieja (La Palma Island, Canaries). All fabulous!
I know Pompeii is a place where the volcano erupted and was better preserved.
I really want to go there.
Amazing place. Thanks.
Merci, excellente vidéo
Oh song in video so sad, This is the past when two thousand years that is very sad.
Thanks 👍👍👍
Super cool
🌟🌟🌟i love it🌟🌟🌟
Beautiful but scary. Thanks.
Wow goodness thank you
Great 👍
Nice!
CONGRATULATÍON VEVY BEAUTÍFUL AND ÍMAGE VERY AMAZÍNG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARÍNG THÍSE WONDERFUL EXCELENTE RALLY SUPER MAGNÍFÍCENT THANK YOU
beautiful
Il be turning 58 very soon and I have to see them to towns befor it's over for me. No place had ever had the impact on me like Hurk. and Pompeii !you can realy see what life was realy like and not some interpretation of archeological opinions only to back up other political motives. it was over 2000 years ago and your still moved by the human tragedy . You will never find that in Egypt or I beleave anywhere elce ! Thank you
Nice..
Still very saddening to think of the terror of that day
Nossa muito lindo
I wouldn’t mind being a security person patrolling this magnificent city but I prefer when the sun goes down and the stars sparkle in the dark and the rest is history when they all come out to play and the only sound is coming from Mt Vesuvius is the rumble and a small puff of smoke 💨......That is a legendary thought 😁
I would go back in time if I could .
6:31 MINUTES INTO IT IS AN AWESOME SHOT.
KEITH
Thanks, Keith, will take a look at your recommendation once I get back from my current trip!
Great
What's that pleasant mountain in the background?
+Henri de Feraudy well, that's Mount Vesuvius, the destroyer of the two cities...
1.58 what is that picture??
It is unbeliveble that the video was recorded by Sony ax100 instead of a high end professional video cam.
wow , is a dream
