Like we still have to get the Mimic involved somehow and the Movie Universe and then there is the Tales of the Pizzaplex Universe and soon there will be a whole storyshift once Steelewool brings up the 1970's game. The games, books, movie and in world games are all meant to be different timelines telling the same general story but in different ways, yet we've not really got a clue on what information would actually be known at this very moment in any of the timelines. I hope the Creator can find a way to make it all work thats not going to bite itself later on

It seems more like it would only change events in their perspective but in ours the story remains the same as Scott still wrote it a certain way. Hell, you have RC!Glitchtrap which destroys AUs that "stain his legacy". Yet the irl AUs are still there. Doing what they just did is not only a cop out. But it basically makes the entire video end with a dues ex machina. And makes the video and the interactions and the experiences they had utterly pointless.
It seems more like a commentary on reaction videos ending that way to me. It asks: "What's the point of the video in their world if nothing of value comes from it?" Book Charlie was able to, in some way, finally come to terms with her father's passing in this, and it's all ripped away from her at the very end. I think it's supposed to be a bad thing, as they treat the action as a 'necessary evil' rather than a gag to end the video. It's a bold choice and one that I think will pay off at some point.
