- Invasion Season 1 Episode 4 Review from the Salty Nerds has them asking why nothing is happening in a show about an alien invasion 4 episodes in.
AppleTV's new sci-fi drama Invasion certainly likes to take its time. We get lots of story about baby mama drama and school bullying, but precious little about actual ALIENS. Oh, and Sam Neill is still nowhere to be found!
In this Invasion episode 4 breakdown, the Nerds cover all the major storylines, and then try to make it better by stunt-casting the Wahlbergs to come in and make the show good.
But it's pretty hard to make an Invasion Episode 4 explained video when it's not exactly clear what the heck is going on with the alien invasion. But that doesn't stop the Nerds from trying!

I'm not thrilled with the show but feel compelled to watch it. I might even keep watching it just to enjoy your reviews of it.
The couple in the woods gave me the creeps too. He convinced them to stay, there was a barking dog (dogs can detect aliens of course) and they held the camera shot on closing and locking the door for what seemed like a long time.
I'm convinced this show is so inept that anything it potentially sets up or foreshadows is all on accident. lol.

5 episodes in and i still don't know wtf is going on in this show. what is it? alien baby octopus?
Worse than not knowing what's going on is not CARING what's going on.
I care, just wished wtf is going on. Why does every alien movie and tv shower ever made, never show the goddam alien for once for more than 1 second?
Also, dont the kids have parents and other school officials who might be a little concerned thier Bus didnt arrive at wherever they were going? I dunno.
Nah, because unlike the audience, they have an actual alien invasion to keep them a little preoccupied

Yeh that was my first bloody thought. Ok the bus never arrived, even if the cops are too busy (you'd think missing kids would rate pretty high and it looks like the military ( in the UK the army reserve) are handling security under martial law so why not cops looking for them?
oK no cops...any parents first thought, inc mine, would be to just ...try the buses route first...I mean they'd know the route cos you'd need permission slips etc.
I also don't think the writer has kids or if they do they're American and didn't do much research. In the uK and IReland kids on a trip would never be alone with one adult, you can't even be in a locker room...even a classroom alone with a kid in school (even 17 year olds) unless the doors stay open so the idea that one teacher would be taking them by himself is unrealistic.
im lucky i got a forward button so from episode 1-6 finished in 20 min. i almost fall asleep

This show is suuuuuch a let down I was excited about it, waited for weeks....and I’m still waiting...hoping it will suddenly get good 😒
5 episodes in, and the prospect for being good is steadily declining.

I'm only on the 4th episode.There were boring moments but only if you expected an action movie. The drama and the actors were pretty compelling. You can really get in there with the pain amidst all the strange things happening around them. The characters were relatable and even loathsome like that Trevante guy waving his gun around civilians like he owns the planet. The alien invasion is just a metaphor of that guy and what he represents. The family struggle of the Aneesha was so heartbreaking. She is stuck in a situation in which she is still trying to comprehend. She wants to do something, but she cannot do it at that moment nor does she know what she wants yet. She is torn between wanting happiness and deciding which step would be best for her children. She is also extremely heartbroken and you can really feel the tension. The Jurassic Park guy in the first episode was a huge deal. It's like you can hear Alanis Morisette singing in the background, "Well isn't this ironic". The only thing I wish they lingered less in was the pain of loss for Mitsuke. That dragged on a little longer than necessary, but otherwise, she's a pretty cool character. I want to applaud the writers of this show. They are developing the characters with care. To those watching this review, take it with a grain of salt. Enjoy the show the way you want to. The story is just beginning.

I don't know if I will even attempt to watch Episode 5. I've given up on it.
IMDB says Sam Neill only is in the 1st episode, whereas it lists other actors for 7, 8, 9 or 10 episodes.
But.... you can withhold information from IMDB so they could be leaving it for a reveal.... (but probably not?)
We're guessing he'll show back up in the Finale. If he doesn't, this show can go F itself.
Just watched episode 5 and spun through most of it, so slow and boring! When does the invasion actually start? The nurse walked in a tent and it took 4 mins of filming for her to walk through the tent and scrub in! How long can you make these scenes seriously…..
Yeah, the longest "scrub in" scene in cinema history. lol.
Total garbage. Sam Niel probably went AWOL after seeing the dailys.

It's boring because they spent all their budget on a "Diversity and Inclusion" Manager and only had enough money left over to hire writers that can't create an interesting story to save their lives.
Well, they also hired Simon Kinberg to make the show, which was their first mistake. lol.

I started the series off siding with Aneesha. This episode shows me that she is a glutton for punishment and a bit unhinged. Starting to see why her husband’s answer was,”She’s not you”. When first asked why he cheated.
Apparently, that is a *big problem* we have in this day and age but they didn't have "DELIVERANCE" in the 50s!

Im at episode 5. The show is called invasion. Yet we see no aliens besides that thing that appeared for 1 minute in a desert, away from civilization. Yet for some reason, everyones injured and they are "running for their lives". Running from what? Are they running from the invisilbe man? Are they running from air? Based on what we've seen, they are running from meteor rain. Wheres the logic?
Yeah, the decision to have the Invasion happen off-screen has been a bad one. It robs the show of its entire premise.

I just watched episode 5 and by the now the ''it's a slow burn you have to just wait'' argument has been destroyed.
World building and character building are fine. Yes I hate modern TRek post Discovery because it's OTT action (and Burnam...f***k burnam) sometimes...but this is the opposite...jesus kill me just kill me.
THe argument 'oh were seeing a 'lower decks' style thing about how the ordinary people react to it''...ok that might be interesting, though I'd prefer it to shift between the world leaders maybe we see the confrences between the European President, US PResident and others and then see the ground level stuff where all the rumors and whatnot are flying, conspiracy theories how the leaders decisions affect everyone....but until the end of ep 5 they didn' even know, the people, that it was an alien thing!!

I feel like this show was basically made for very simple minded men and women who love Real housewives but with worse dialogue and no chemistry. All while trying to seem smart and introspective but It falls flat!

200 million for this crap ,How in the hell this was Evergreen lighted is beyond me let alone how it got a second season I just can’t even believe it it’s utter crap
the actress playing Anesha just keeps turning up n movies lately. I get it, she's somewhat attractive and as a woke bonus is Persian, but her acting is mediocre at best. It begs the question, why does she keep getting these roles???
Now I can forgive the fact that the US is somehow now non-existent, the world president is a black African woman, and a cast that has ZERO white male leads (Harris doesn't count), and the now ubiquitous LGTBQ couple, but the show is amazingly and breathtakingly boring. Give me good writing, great acting, and proper pacing I'm all in.
It's sad when bitching about the show is infititely more entertaining than the show itself lol.

I like the concept I like aliens and invasion topics but what this show is doing is making all there characters look a little bit mental unprepared for life like none of them have commonsense the soldier was not thinking the mom is not thinking THOUS kids r kids lol n that scientist is only thinking about her self and that is funny lol
