Amazing voice for an almost 72 year old. Hardly changed from the late 70’s. Forgot how much I loved this song until I heard it on the radio 10 minutes ago
This is on my desert island playlist. I was 12 when this came out in ‘79. Still got the 45” vinyl record I bought as a 12yr old. Also like “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime”. Korgis were underrated.
A true classic that resonates over 40 years later. James Warren taking us back to the good old days of 1979. Forget Cliff, The Boomtown Rats, Dollar, Blondie and the rest, for this was THE best single of that year.
Strange coincidence that. I heard this record being played on Ken Bruce's Radio 2 show this morning. I have never heard it played on any of the other stations for years. It's the same crap on stations like Greatest hits radio, smooth FM etc, classics like this hardly get a look in which is a shame.
This song is such a joyful and uplifting "happy" song - it has such a warmth that just makes you want to join in with the chorus. Even 40 yrs on - great performance made so much better because they played it just the way they did back in '79.
Always loved this song. Was 14 when it came out. The Korgis have have aged superbly.

Jeez his voice hasn't changed in 40 years. Love it.
I saw the same ensemble at Selby Town Hall in 2019. I saw Stackridge at Sunderland Rink about 1978. James Warren-top bloke!!

Brilliant ! One of my most favourite songs ever
This shaped my life; I was in love with a girl, and this was the soundtrack to my courting. Reader, I married her.

What happened to the dark glasses? Contacts, I suppose, but that detracts from his coolness.
